EBMM StingRay Special Club

Im loving the Mike Lull. Active jazz is my favorite bass, and that one is a beast!
The Stingray is great. It’s really well made and feels amazing. But next to the Lull, the tone pales in comparison. The more I played it the more I realized it won’t get gigged. So I decided to send it back to Sweetwater. Good news is, it’ll be back up for sale soon, and likely with a discount. So someone can get a great deal on a fantastic bass.
So so in love! I’m really glad I ended up with the stingray special. Every time I pick her up I still can't believe how light she is, the neck is such a joy to play. I ended up sticking with rounds, my other axes have flats and I really like the zing for slap. Still gravitating toward positions 1, 2, and 4. The bad news for me is I’ve been having to dedicate more time to my jazz as I was asked to play in a Zeppelin Tribute but I’m hoping to pick my Ray up more often now that that’s settled.

interesting, Ive have gone against my norm and decided (for now) to stick with rounds on my Amethyst Sparkle 5H . I can't promise that will stay that way, but for now, Im enjoying that extra bite.
I imagine down the road (especially when the custom shop is open) my next Ray will have flats.

They are both BLUETIFUL!!! But I too like that aqua sparkle finish a lot more. That was my first EBMM Sparkle bass.

That's another one on my bucket list, the 30th anniversary.
The voicing in that preamp is really special. I’m just waiting for the right one.
I’ve owned basses that range from a very affordable Squire Affinity to custom ordered expensive Boutique basses. I consider Stingray Specials to be in the price point sweet spot for consistent quality with really nice finishes.
They’re not cheap but well worth the price of admission. They are not for everyone but then no bass is.

Not patiently waiting to see what the options (and markup) are. Toying with a single H. The block inlays spoke to me, I’m not sure that’s an option with fretless necks though.
I like that .....thinking out the box!!! Which finishes have caught your eye?
I think I saw a white sparkle would love to have all black hardware with that or all gold hardware. I believe you have a white one in your collection? I do love the look of a white humbucker but I def want a bold contrasting color, so probably end up with black. I didn’t see this as an option but I’m hopeful we might be able to also ask for no pick guard, especially since you can customize even the pole pieces and smaller details.

yes exactly!!! That and the block in lays I think would be really cool. Probably have to go with black hardware if I do the blocks.
