Adding to that,

disrupting our economy only makes it harder for our medical system to work. Medical research relies on the free flow of information and travel is part of that flow. Travel restrictions simply haven't worked.

There was a brief discussion earlier in this thread about transmission from animals to humans.

Fruit bat is believed to be the main carrier of Ebola in the animal kingdom. Cross-species transmission of disease is not an urban myth.

Since Christopher Columbus Day is coming up, it is worth mentioning that Syphilis in Europe was traced directly to one of the boats under his command. Before the initial outbreak in Europe, sheep were the only carriers. I guess it really was a long voyage...

The patient only becomes infectious once the different symptoms of Ebola become apparent, namely vomiting or diarrhea, which are severe.

No one displaying those systems will be sitting next to you on a bus.

No matter how many times it's repeated, claiming the possibility of it being transmitted by aerosol does not make it true.

You've ignored my earlier post. The CDC rates aerosol transmission "unknown". Obviously it doesn't spread like regular flu, but given the deadly nature one would expect protocols to be applied correctly, so when it does spread unexpectedly, is that necessarily error of application or could it be aerosol? That's not paranoia.

It's precisely this 'disconnect' which is is alarming to some. imo.

The people we count on (W.H.O., CDC) to make important decisions regarding the devastating Ebola outbreak lack funding and leadership. Even they admit it.

Its not a call for panic, but it sure as hell is a massive reality check.

You sound confused. I never said there was a conspiracy. There was no mention of the word until you brought it up. I only stated the the CDC is headed by puppet (Frieden) who lacks the skills, fortitude and leadership qualities that should be required of the CDC leader..

Ive stated he should resign, and I predict this will happen.

He's a poor excuse for a CDC head. There's many qualified doctors who agree, and are calling for him to step down.

Next, we should also look into the WHO and do a little troubleshooting there, as well.

No conspiracies, but clearly much poor decision-making and a very passive approach to combating this Epidemic.

The rate of spread is tiny in comparison to infuenza. Quid pro quo it's hard to catch.

The reasons for its spread in West Africa are cultural and well documented early in the thread.

One Drop is happy to claim it's impossible to catch by aerosol from a relatively healthy sick person. That doesn't jive with CDC publication, nor the very few heath workers catching it despite extreme measures. That doesn't mean it's easy to catch.
