Eden Amps No More?

Love mine. It's going nowhere, even after I get a Mesa TT-800.

I just had my tech go over my WT400. He did a major overhaul. Replaced parts etc. Depending on the music I will use anything from the WT400 to an old modified GK800, Markbass F500, Acoustic Image 800, Genz Magellan 800. They are all good and sound different. Lately, most of the time I just use a Nordstrand Starlifter through the power section of the Acoustic Image 800 or Magellan 800. The Starlifter is a killer for upright or electric bass. even good in the studio. All of these amps are just different flavors of good. BUT.... It has to come from the hands in the first place.

Yes, I wonder if Armin can give us some inside info on the shutdown... Calling @assman1960
WT 400 was my first "real" amp. My reaction to it:

1.Gee, that's a lot of knobs!

2.Guess I'll put 'em all at 12:00 except the Gain and Master, put those where I need to, and adjust from there to get the best sound.

3.No need to adjust, sounds great with everything at 12:00

Accept that Enhance knob!! I always kept that at 9:00 ;)

I gotta say I’m going to miss their 210XST cabinet and I should have bought a pair a couple of years back. Far too heavy to compete with modern cabs but jeez, that sound. Hifi is the word. I have the 110 Chinese whizzy cab for a practice rig in the living room and that’s a great living room/acoustic gig cabinet. But those are gone now too.

I don’t have an MBA and wish I did because I’m sure there’s a logical reason why companies like Fender, Gibson and Marshall buy companies like SWR, Steinberger and Eden, DO NOTHING with the products and then close them down without having tried to make them a going concern again. They don’t even use the IP. Seems like a titanic waste of money, time and effort to me but I guess that’s why I’m not a member of the CEO class.

+1 on the D-210xst. Best cab ever regardless of weight.

My love for the WT-300 increased exponentially when I finally read the manual and learned the "enhance" knob was actually an anti-loudness feature for when you don't want your amp to be heard in the mix.

Amazingly I have never had the pleasure of using any Eden electronics ever. But Eden's David-series speaker cabinets have been my go-to for over 25 years, and if replacement drivers or recone kits for the Eden speakers in my Towering Inferno stack are no longer available as a result of this news I will be a sad puppy indeed.

Looks like they will be around for a while longer according to the text they sent me this morning. To your point, I may just buy a pair of replacement speakers or re-cone kits for my D-series cabs while I can.
