Eden Amps No More?

I always liked Eden amps when I played them. I'm started to feel nostalgic for that 90's hifi sound.

So sad. I was an Eden endorser back in the early 2000s. I loved the gear. I left in the aftermath of David Nordschow leaving, when there seemed to be a big hit in the level of customer service. But I've always had a soft spot for Eden, and have kept my old WT300, though I haven't used it in years. It's been a long time since I even considered buying Eden, but I hate that they're just gone. I guess part of me was hoping for some sort of renaissance for the brand, somehow.

It's entirely possible that the brand is resurrected by some future maker who attempts to recreate the "Eden Sound"

this is true. Brands come and go. I do think I might consider upgrading to the TN500 at some point. As we know old amps never die they just get passed around.

I had a WT400 Montrose, Minn. Great amp and flawless performance. I gave up my GK800RB for it and never looked back.

Still have my Eden gear and it’s a race to the grave to see if it or me get’s there first..after 10 years, we’re both still kicking and gigging.

I wonder if Bassman1968 has any information?

I looked for a long time trying to find a 90s WT-400, because it was the quintessential Eden amp, in my experience. Had a number of amps in the past--a WT-1205 (great tone, but underpowered and unreliable); a WT-800 (only sold it to get an Aguilar DB751); a WT-330 (great tone, but underpowered). I finally am content with a 1996 WT-300 (a real gem) and the aforementioned WT-400. Never going to sell them!

I dropped my WT-800 on the pavement once. It got dented, but still worked like a charm. Damn was that thing heavy.

Remember that Eden head that’d be burnt to a crisp and still worked?

Possibly OT, but Dean Dinning (TTWS) ditched Eden for Markbass and I thought his live sound went in the toilet about the same time.

I always like the WT-400. It was one amp that sounded louder than I’d expect from it’s power rating. It was super punchy and sat in the mix really well.

I too noticed their items disappearing from retailers recently. Makes me a bit sad and my amp even wears a frown

I gotta say I’m going to miss their 210XST cabinet and I should have bought a pair a couple of years back. Far too heavy to compete with modern cabs but jeez, that sound. Hifi is the word. I have the 110 Chinese whizzy cab for a practice rig in the living room and that’s a great living room/acoustic gig cabinet. But those are gone now too.

I don’t have an MBA and wish I did because I’m sure there’s a logical reason why companies like Fender, Gibson and Marshall buy companies like SWR, Steinberger and Eden, DO NOTHING with the products and then close them down without having tried to make them a going concern again. They don’t even use the IP. Seems like a titanic waste of money, time and effort to me but I guess that’s why I’m not a member of the CEO class.

FWIW, I have a D-210XST, and it served me well for several years. However, it pales in comparison with my T3W fEARful 15/6/1, which makes the XST sound like an AM radio. Sad to see the end on the Eden era...

I used that head with 2 Bag End 15’s for so long.

I still use my Demeter Bass 400 head on a regular basis. That little thing has WAY outsize slam to it. I would be entirely comfortable using that on moderately loud gigs. It’s all about the design.

Most of my current gigs are ampless- iem’s, but on the occasions when I need an amp, I drag out the old trusty Eden Wt 550- it’s really warm & powerful- especially @ 4 ohms. Plenty of heft & volume..I love the old Eden gear. (Trusty old vintage Gk 400 RB gets some action too)

Absolutely love my Eden Metro 2x10 combo. Goes to 2 ohms. I stack a 210xlt on top if needed for bigger gigs. Sounds great but she's heavy

WT 400 was my first "real" amp. My reaction to it:

1.Gee, that's a lot of knobs!

2.Guess I'll put 'em all at 12:00 except the Gain and Master, put those where I need to, and adjust from there to get the best sound.

3.No need to adjust, sounds great with everything at 12:00
