Eden Forum Disappears

(I think you mean Photobucket.) That changed from a free service to paid subscription a while back (can't remember how long now but could look it up), if you didn't pay then your photos got obscured or deleted.

A lot of forums lost a lot of photos because of that.
AAAAarrrrggghhh....Yeah I meant Photobucket...:rollno:
It was June a couple of years back. I manage a web site of folk artist who send me their stuff to update each month and most of them used Photobucket. Then one day the majority of their pictures had a PhotoBucket sign on them that that photo wasn't available and they changed their free third party hosting to a $400 a year price. Everybody scrambled to get their pictures hosted on PictureTrail and Flickr as fast as they could.

Just got around to this thread and I also am sad to see that forum go. I joined in 2004 and recall alot of the names mentioned in this thread. I even purchased and used the good ol "VINNY RIG" and it's the best I ever sounded.

I liked it so much I just purchased a pristine WT-800 3 weeks ago. Traded some gear straight up for it at Sam Ash. Got it hooked up to my Fender neo 610 cab. I've come full circle and put my genz and mesa amps to backups.

Thanks to the guys who kept it alive as long as they did.

Hey @metermech,

I think you made a wise decision with that WT800! My WT500 was upgraded to 800 watts by David hisownself and was the amp he used while designing a lot of the Eden cabs. So I have the same power section that was in the original WT800 amps (WT800A). If you have one of the new WT800's that has the light-up logo, your amp can go down to a 2 ohm load on each side and will bridge at 1100-watts into an 4 ohm load, which is something mine will never do.

Armin (bassmann1968) from the Eden forum is still on here from time to time, so if you need his electronics expertise, don't hesitate to post your question in this thread...Gotta love that Eden gear!

Thanks RIP..I appreciate that and I do enjoy my Eden gear. Like I said I've come full circle. My WT-800 won't bridge at 1100 watts but that's ok. I could've kept looking for a newer one but I was more interesting in the texture of sound it can give versus the power. 400 watts is good for what I do along with that tone that comes with with the WT .I will sub to this thread ..Txs again to you and Armin for carrying the torch..

Pity that the forum is gone. Back in the day, it had to be one of the most active bass forums on the net. Truth be told (and through no fault of the current admins), it’s been dying since David left. The same could be said for Eden, which used to be top shelf stuff by popular acclamation. Product development seemed to stagnate before David left (remember the long promised but never delivered Rocco amp or the gain structure fiasco of the WT1205?). Meanwhile, others arguably exceeded expectations (Genz Benz and now Genzler come to mind). Eden boasts the new World Tour Pro series of amps (and there are claims that it is well built) but I’ve never seen one on stage. The old flagship WT800 has been out of production for years, and I still see them in action. On the other side of things, the heart of the cabinet lineup (the D-series xlt’s and xst’s) reached its apex years ago.

Still enjoying my WT400 and D210XLT’s, but they don’t make it out much, as I’ve gone direct to pa for most of the last 5+ years.

Was lucky to score this 215XLT a while back.
After suggestion from the forum page, I contacted Eminence regarding a replacement speaker.
Only get to pull it out for outdoor or big room gigs but I love it.
Sorry the forum page is gone..

Wow. That's a great-looking rig!

Makes me hearken back to the early 70's when I was touring with a Standel powered 215 cab. The last time that cab was in the Eden catalog was 2009 although it was probably still available at least for a while in 2010. Eden put out a "2010-2011" catalog in the fall of 2010 and it was no longer listed there. You know they came out with a limited edition they called a P1515X
I recall a pic he once posted of a wall of 112XLTs. Loved that pic!
Yeah, he has one cabinet pyramid picture that has the four (or was it 6?) D112XLT's, a D210XLT, a D210XST, a D410XLT, a D410XST, a D115XLT, a D212XLT, and the list goes on and on. It was easy to find in the Eden Forum when it was still alive. Then he put the amps on top, which would have been way over my head 'cause I'm only 5'6".

You know they came out with a limited edition in about 2017 that they called a P1515X. I've never seen it in a shop and have no idea if it's still available:
