Eden WT800C amp woes!! Anyone else having Problems?

+1!!!!!

Not that it totally absolves them from a responsibility to deal with it, but yeah, USM is BY FAR the primary core of the problem. :(

I'm also an Eden tone/product lover, so I also hope these things get resolved (as you can surely tell from my generally supportive posts).

I also agree the forum outage doesn't necessarily indicate anything, otherwise it woulda' got taken down LONG ago due to phish-gate (long story/thread, just trust me on it).

Has anybody contacted the corporate stooges at US Music to tell them the harm their business practices are inflicting on a previously respected brand?

Wow... another big strike against them. 9+ months!!

Pfft, with a company like that the average guy probably would have a hard time getting through to anyone that gives a crap. That is, assuming that ANYONE with USM gives a crap.

I emailed Lane and David Nordschow today regarding my past problems with their service and Kirks. Lane and I spoke by phone about it and Kirk is set to get a new amp when they rollout of production. Lane didn't know when that will be but is getting back to me on it.

The tough thing is the sour taste this all leaves in your mouth. Hard to go back and continue after stuff like this. We'll see.

Glad you did it, not me. :) I'd just PM'd the link so far, but we'll see if it holds up or gets deleted.

This is the nonsense I've been referring to in the thread to this point.
Unacceptable ANY way you look at it. CP got nailed a lot worse than my man over in Austin... :scowl: :scowl:

I've never seen such a mess or lack of support.. ever..

MikeW thank you so much brotha... for the contact, and going to the mat for me.. I really appreciate it.. this whole thing will blow over.. but i think that you have the right idea in the direction that you are choosing to go.... let me know how that all works out.. i think its a win , win.

The "sour taste" mentioned by someone is right on. I was pissed about my projected long wait. As it turns out, it was only 3 weeks. I'm a lucky one I guess. In the mean time, I bought a Roland Cube 100 combo. It sounds fine. I'm not doing any big time shows or anything. I wanted to see if it was all I needed. As it turns out, it has handled everything so far. I almost always have PA support and really only need a stage monitor.

The problem is of all the amps I've tried, the Eden 550/210XST has been the one with "the sound' I liked. I know when I plug it in to see if it is working, I'll want to use it again as it sounds so nice.

Anyone want a sweet little rig...

Call me crazy, but I don't think the pot needs any more stirring. Eden knows about the issues, and has given indication to fixing them. My guess is that these problems started bulding in USM's customer service group, and got fairly large before Eden really had visibility. By the time David and Lane tried to get their hands around it, it was already to big to control. People were already upset about service delays, long wait times. All the while, the Eden guys were worried about how to move their shop to Mundelein. In essence, the two things created "The Perfect Storm."

Now, I know some people are going to revolt against Eden, and bash, and dump their perfectly working gear, and tell everyone they know how much Eden sucks even though they've never had a problem personally with their products. This is not right.

Others of you will simply choose not to consider Eden until they show they have these NEW problems under control. That's a very valid stance to take.

But many of us want the best for them because we LOVE their products. I personally want Eden to feel just enough heat in all this to turn on the A/C and fix the problem, rather than catch fire and go down in a flame of glory.

Instead of stirring things up, lets try and calm the waters a little bit, at least for those of us that DON"T have an Eden issue we're dealing with. The people who are stuck with a problem are the ones that have a right to be vocal. I feel like everyone else here is just jumping on the bandwagon, and that I think is unwarranted.

What, did you get your USM Hush-Money check today too? ;)
And I believe the only "bashing" that's going on is poor CS, for which, I don't care WHO you are, there is no excuse for. Sorry.

+1!

Well put.

Not to diminish the problems and frustrations to date, but I also prefer to operate on the "let's concentrate on doing what we can to support resolution" side rather than the "let's see just how ticked off we can make people" side by continuing to aggravate the sore and dwell infinitely on the horrors that have already passed.

IMHO.

P.S. Just in case anyone was wondering due to my generally positive position on Eden, no, I don't represent them in any official capacity, and am not compensated in ANY way (monitarily or otherwise) for my comments. I'm just a fan of the products, and I want the company to stick around... it's really that simple.

I don't think that's being debated. That's been clearly established. I think the point is, let's try to focus on moving forward from here. At least that's the way I'm taking it.

I like these two posts a lot.
While they've obviously mucked it in the past, they seem to be actively working on corrections now, and at NAMM.
The only thing that would be better is more beta testing to avoid this;)

Schroeder, Thunderfunk, Dr Bass have all gone waaay outta their way to fix my problems, fast.
Carvin is getting a chance to now, since my b1500 showed up with loose parts rattling around inside: UPS call tag coming Monday, with apologies, and not attitude or questions.

These are the kinds of companies that get my gig money.
I love my WT800B, I love my Navigator. It's gonna take some good news on the street before I re-up on anything new from Eden...

Vic and Chef. Much love for both of you but I kind of disagree on this. I don't see adding new information as stirring the pot. Nor do I want anyone with recent Eden troubles, that we HAVEN'T heard of, shying away from posting their experience. Just my opinion.

Lane gave me some assurances today and I am going to see if they are followed through upon. I believe he will hold up his end. However, based on what he told me about customer service and tech support currently, I would not look for anything positive to change for a while. Too bad too.

Yeah, except I don't consider phish-gate "new" information.

I'm not suggesting this, and I'm also not getting that from Chef or Eublet. All I've ever suggested is that Lane be given the first chance to react to CS problems before a flame thread is started.

Sorta' like, if we worked together, and you had a problem with me, I'd rather you talk to me about it before you talk to my boss. That kinda' thing.

What I'd like to avoid is repeatedly regurgitating already terminated long ugly threads ad-infinitum and beating it to death over and over again. I don't see a benefit to that.

Yeah, I wouldn't figure it'd be an overnight thing, either. :)

We are on the same page then. This was the first I had heard of the CP situation.

I too want to see the company do well and turn things around.

As an Eden user, I don't need hush-money. I have their products, and would like to keep buying better ones from them in the future. I have put my faith in Eden by placing MY money with them. I want them to succeed. That's why I posted what I posted.

Got my wt800c back today... i plugged it in.. set all controls flat ... Guess what the Mute still is not working.. before, the gain control when pulled out, would operate the MUTE as it should, but it would cause a huge LOUD thud through the speakers...now it does not mute at all.. it in fact BOOSTS the gain and i get a wahh type of eq sound with lots of hiss on top.. Im pretty Pi$$ed.. got the amp 2 months ago .. it has been in repair 2 times since then.. I have not had it a day.. and now it has to go out again... and i cant get my money back becasue it is over 60days...:crying: :crying: I know(cry baby)I have to go to NAMM tomorrow so i wont be here to ship it back.. and eden cant send a new one to replace it becasue they DONT HAVE ANY.. I never heard of such BS..extremely pi$$ed off right now

Is it the store or manufacturer's policy to give you your money back after 60 days? Either way, since the problem you reported was after one day and still has yet to be fixed satisfactorily, you should be able to get your money back based on your original problem date. If it was defective on day 1, they should still honor a request to be re-imbursed.

It's unfortunate that this stuff is happening. I can understand occasional quality issues and design/manufacturing defects, but it's how the manufacturer reacts and corrects these problems that makes all the difference. With the internet and forums such as these, you would think companies would be more aware of getting issues resolved quickly, effectively and politely. I would personally prefer a "we screwed up and will fix it" answer than get the runaround and excuses.

And companies should institute a universal policy that if the unit is defective right out of the box, it is replaced right away (not repaired or refurbished). They can deal with the defective unit while you get what you paid for.

+1 except the problem is, svtb15 operated on good faith and allowed the repair to push him past that time window, but then got burned. Had he chosen not to tolerate it at all from the get-go, we probably wouldn't be discussing his case now. Normally, what he did would have worked out just fine, but then of course the problems we're discussing here (which will hopefully go away starting very very soon)...

A BIG +1!

Hey Mike;
I'm not telling anyone to keep quiet. I'm just sayin it's great that Lane, DAvid and Eden seem to finally be taking steps towards making things right...re-read my post.
I love my wt800b, and Nav.
