Electro-Harmonix Bass Big Muff

Quick question, how many people who bought one kept it around?

i still have mine and have no intentions of getting rid of it.
not sure what all the fuss over it is that some of you are having?
it is what it is. take time and play with it. its a damn good fuzz pedal for 75 bucks. nuf said.

just managed to get my mitts on one on monday.
man, what an awesome pedal!!
where i wasn't keen on the LBM, this nails the sound perfectly!
the dry blend is awesome, and having a tone control you can turn all the way up without fear of losing all of the bottom end is an absolute godsend!!!
this pedal will not be going anywhere!!

I'm looking for that Kings X Dogman tone (deep bright dirty). I got a svt4-pro head, sansamp driver. I have tried boss bass distortion, but it takes the bottom out...is this pedal gonna do it? Any suggestions?

cb1717- I'm not familiar with the tone you are talking about, but the BBM with most assuredly preserve your bottom end.

Oric- Yes.

So my battery is dying again, and since I have no more and the the power supply I bought hasn't turned into the right one- Even though I put it in my closet and forgot about it for a couple of weeks- I'm stuck with a dying BBM.

...And it sounds pretty cool. When crank my volume and drive, I start to get a signal again. Then when I dig in, it spits dirt like it's blood from the mouth of someone who's been run trough with a sword and is cursing the guy who did it.

I was watching a Live version and he used his 12 string that would help with the bright tone. you might want to up the drive on the sansamp to get it to distort a bit more and add in the presence if you have one that has that knob on it.

I need to try the BBM soon. has any one tried it in the effects loop of the Qtron+ yet?

I just acquired a Bass Big Muff from a local shop (Starving Musician ROCKS, and the Santa Clara location has a few more of these in stock!).

I'll be A/B'ing it with my Blowtorch and preparing a review soon. First impressions: I love the new tweaks on classic Big Muff tones, and I realized how much I miss that thick sustain!

Please let me know if you think it's worth it to keep both the Blowtorch & Bass Muff on the same board...I'm in love with the Blowtorch and seriously doubt I'll let it go.

I went to the SM Berkeley store a couple weeks ago to demo that pedal & they had ZERO! Freaking South Bay *&%EW$%^!

Will do. I've been pitting them head-to-head in a battle to the death this evening... results likely tomorrow. :ninja:

If you go on Invalid Link Removed and check the Berkeley section of the site, you can search a fairly current inventory list. I'd check that or call them before going to the store next time.

Alternatively, you can ask them to transfer a Bass Big Muff from the Santa Clara shop. They move inventory around between the three shops fairly often.

While I haven't tired the BBM yet (it's on order), I have had an LBM and a Russian Muff, and I can tell you that the Blowtorch is a completely different animal. Very, very different kind of distortion.. I almost wouldn't call the Blowtorch a fuzz pedal, more like a sawtooth distortion where the Muff is a lot smoother and richer.

Musiciansfriend just started carrying Bass Big Muffs. I think they just started, I know they're carrying them now, but I'm not sure for how long they've had them. Oh and I used my bass big muff with my guitar through my Ashdown last night and I got a PERFECT woman tone, think Clapton on SWLABR.
