Epiphone Club

This EMB arrived in good shape. Played a little through a small practice amp. Sounded decent. Will adjust a little before the next gig and let it rip... On the way, white Explorer.

Seafoam Green - I'm told

First rehearsal tonight.. no time yet for any setup, no fresh strings, etc. Action is high, some curve to the neck. Sounds great. Maybe a little less sustain than my active p bass, but too soon and not a great place to judge..... gotta gig with it.

Drummer (pro sound guy) and guitarist like the tones. Jazz pup is noisy (hum).

Gibson just re-released the M-III guitar, which is the same body shape as my EBM (actually a 2nd one on the way).

Will be interesting if it catches some sales, has a longer than usual scale length for a Gibson at 25.5" is typical Fender, 24.75" typical Gibson/Epiphone guitars, cool Explorer reverse head. Suddenly, Gibson seems to be discovering marketing and introducing new models.

Lowered the action and loosened the truss rod some today on the first EBM and its starting to feel usable. Will give it a few rounds in the gig next week to see how it fits in the mix with the existing active pups and strings. Narrow neck and 34" scale make it an easy switch from my active Precision.

The Epi Explorer arrived a few days ago, passive pups with a wider nut, but it looks like brass.... may bring it also if I can get the action back into play this week. Pretty sure it was a 34" scale... does anyone know when and if they manufactured 32 vs 34 scale Explorers?

Brought two of the three Epis acquired over the past two months, along with my main Precision Lyte (active pups, narrow neck).

Strapped on the EBM 2nd set, and the output was very low, and tones were dead, didn't have time to check/replace the battery, so skipped it for the night.

Strapped on the Explorer for the last set. Plugged into the passive inputs on the amps, output was impressive... surprised. Keep in mind the strings were probably old and dead. Played through a half dozen tunes at least while battling a new shape, high action, and a neck that is 1/4" wider than both the EBMs and my Precision.... fingers already tired as we're late in the gig and we hadn't gigged for a month.

Like the pup switch for instant tone changes.

Time for strings and a set up.

here are a few of my epi's may I have a number please?

Hi,

I already have a Jack Casady in silverburst (don't have a photo of that yet), and just acquired an EA-260.

IMG_0227_zpsd7a8ce35.jpg

The condition of the body is very nice for a 40 year old hollowbody. There are some issues I need to get sorted out, but it's a nice looking bass.

The thread where I describe those issues is here:

NBD: Epiphone EA-260

Can I have a number? Thanks!

This Epi accusbass is the second bass I ever owned, I traded it 4 years ago for my Yammaha fretless and 50 buck (my way not the other) and saw it up for sale on Kijiji for a hundred bucks so I shot a 75 offer to the guy and got it , This and my dean tour z are my favorites for recording
