Dont think I posted in epi thread. Got a 2001 eb0. Put a reissued bisonic in it to replace sidewinder and changed bridge to supertone. Just got a victory gold foil pickup for middle or bridge and playing with placement (so far sounds like bisonic w bonus of surface mount). Also changed out stock strings for tapes.

I saw this EB-3 yesterday while I was in a local SA store. It really looked great to me. And the sounds were fantastic too. It followed me home. The Epi's really are a fine well made bass.

I love my EB3.Replaced the bridge with a Babicz and the tuners with Hipshot ultralights added a white pearloid scratch guard and truss rod cover!

My Embassy was made in China. I was really pleasantly surprised at the build quality for the price.
Frets are well finished, all the parts seem to be aligned correctly, fit and finish are quite excellent.
It doesn’t feel as nice as my old ‘67 Embassy, but the playing ergonomics are actually better.
Yeah mine feels great, it’s a newer one too. Tone pot was shot when I got it, reworked and rewired it. Comfortable and killer to play

When I was playing guitar, I recall about a decade ago realizing that Epi Les Pauls had much better frets and general finishing than Gibsons. I was appalled. When I switched to bass, I grabbed the Epi Thunderbird, played it a while, tried a couple of other basses, and took the Epi home. Other than the bridge being a bit misaligned and the jack needing to be tightened, I've had zero complaints in ~5 years- although I do plan to replace the bridge.

My Epi Pro V I bought used. Not only was the bridge to one side, but it was warped due to a combination of having four mounting holes off to one side (no hole under the B string) and the wrong screw being put in under the E, spreading the hole and causing the whole thing to warp. A Hipshot A lined up with two holes so I only had to drill a third. Some day I'll plug the holes and redrill to get it lined up, but for now, it plays great.

I can't see how I'd be happier paying 2-4X for a Gibson. Maybe I would, but I'm content!
