My Pro IV is now my fretless. A fretless 'Bird always confuses somebody in the audience.

Oooooh. That's amusing. I'm afraid of doing the next 5-string Pro-V I find, but its planned.

I abhor the mess that remains when frets are pulled. Do they slide out like Fenders or pounded in on the board?

I don't know how they do it. I am lazy and unskilled, so I spent money to get a luthier to do the work. He refilled the slots with walnut veneer that is very similar to the color of the fretboard. It's harder making the dots disappear. Sharpie kinda works, but not as well as I would like.

The funny thing about it is that there's always one weird guy in the audience who stares at it the whole time, trying to figure out what he's looking at. It's not exactly the kind of groupie I would pick, given a choice, but it's still funny. To me anyway.

Gday, @mr zee I don’t think numbers are given out these days. I asked in 2016 and - to my knowledge - never received one.
It is what it is. I still hang around to check out the Epiphones.

2001 epi eb0. 1st shorty. Got me back into playing bass. Modded with a reissue guild bisonic and victory gold foil surface mount pickup (no cavity routing required) and supertone bridge. Love it with tapewounds.
