Ever had 'that guy' at your gig/gigs??

Thankfully I never have this problem, the bassist from my old (I used to be primarily a guitard) is at the majority of my shows. He's a big guy and handles my hecklers/those guys for me. He starts out being polite, which usually works 9 out 10 times, the other 1 time isn't so nice. Thankfully though, incidents are few and far between.

Wow - awesome response guys!! Yeah, I did show alot of restraint. I wasn't using the pedals during the last song, so the sound didn't cut. Like the old saying goes, the show must go on!! The repairs weren't to expensive for the guitarist, but I didn't even fix my pedals. I had gotten sick of them and it gave me a good enough reason to not use them anymore :p

When he poured the beer on my head, he didn't do it in a malicious manner...it was just his way of 'partying' I guess. Regardless, it pissed me off. I am glad I didn't swing at him though, the last guy who pissed me off at a gig was a bassist who blew the power circuit and then threw my head unit. I ended up knocking him out with one punch after being king hit from behind. Plus when you consider the fact the KO victim was twice the size of me and 'that guy' was about 50lb lighter than me, I may have done some serious damage...OK, who am I kidding, I am not Mike Tyson :p

Full story on the KO in the 'No, you can't use my amp' thread lol.

Cheers,
Jordan

A couple of years ago I was with a "red dirt country" band. We had a guy screaming david bowie the entire set. After the show he jumped on stage and picked up my bass. He couldn't figure out the wireless set up and it was my beater back up so I let it go. Then he grabbed our singers les paul. Still wireless, no luck. Then he went for the lead players kramer. Still wireless, still no luck. He kept the guitar on and found a mic still active in the monitors. After a few minutes of him making sure that we knew he thought we were "fags" (even though HE was the one requesting bowie), I went to shut off the monitor board. He saw me coming, sling the guitar which busted into about 20 pieces, and ran toward me. I met him halfway and delivered the most pristine full nelson to ddt combo ever executed......... Off of the 5 foot stage I might add. The venue ran his card for a grand to pay for the ax and he got arrested fort public intoxication outside the place. ..... Band - 1000 (dollars).... That guy - 90 (days)

we play in a lot of pubs so 'that guy' is usually shuffling around muttering to himself, which is all well and good untill after the set he comes and talks to you in what can barely be called words and you just have to say 'yeah... yeah.... aww thanks..... erm.... yeah?' then pretend youve seen someone you know on the other side of the room

The best "one those guys" stories I have is from about 6 or so years ago when the drunk door-man kept loudly bitchin bout our volume (hard rock cover band). My guitarist, drummer & me were out front on the bar patio when I look in & see our female, mother of 5, singer take this a-hole down by his throat..hard. We still laugh about it.
