Ever play at a clothing optional resort?

Never had the opportunity. If asked, I’d probably decline. Something about a bunch of sunburned septuagenarians just takes all the wind out of my sails.

Now, we did play an event that had a “free bike wash” that was definitely staffed by pro dancers. That was a very distracting gig, and the eye muscles are still aching from trying to keep our heads looking forward, as our wives sat cross-armed out front.

Yes. I was suspicious at the load in when signs in the hall stated "NO CELL PHONES". No pictures. No one in the band knew, and of course we were clothed. Most were older, rich people. It was funny, a little uncomfortable, and we got through it. The singer was freaking that people would get on stage.

Got hooked up to sub for an old friend's husband for a gig. Looking forward to it. Guy is a good writer with a following, not really in my genre but I'm flexible. Not sure what the pay is like but probably fine, and it's not super important.

Turns out the gig is at a clothing optional resort. Oh my.

Still doing it, perhaps making a weekend of it with my wife.

Anyone got any experience with something like this?
One band I play with has done it and believe me you will wish they had clothes on. The band played with clothes on. If you think it's going to be a great visual it's not. Have you ever seen the movie About Schmidt with Jack Nichloson? the scene with Kathy Bates nude that is what this will be like

Let's just hope it doesn't turn out to be an "Eyes Wide Shut" situation. :D

My very first gig was in a cop's basement. The drummer's dad was a cop and we played at a birthday party for one of his dad's cop buddies. It was about 1972 and we played whatever was on the radio at the time - Santana, Stones, Credence, Steppenwolf, etc.

One cop's wife became quite drunk and began removing her clothes. He finally stopped her when she was wearing only a leotard. She then went around the room making out with everyone. She tried to French kiss me when I had a mouth full of food and then told me I was a terrible kisser. Those were the good old daze.

No, but visions of Peter Sellers with a guitar popped into my mind. I can’t remember the name of movie. Have fun, but remember the rule here on TB. Pictures or it didn’t happen…LOL!!!
