Ever play at a clothing optional resort?

Played a club in Denver in the late 70's. Wet tee shirt night, and we shared the dressing room with the contestants, most of whom were Denver Pony Girls. At one point one of the contestants pulled her tee shirt up over her head and asked me what I thought. I think my brain fried, and I can't remember much about the gig after that.
Take the gig and may you also have fond memories.

I've done this a few times, not at resorts exactly, but at festivals in rented grounds in rural locations. Hippie/occult/steampunk oriented kind of events.

As to the scenery, well, if you think about the clientele who would be both interested and able to afford an expensive weekend like those, they aren't 25 year olds.

Played a couple of gigs for a swingers organization before.
Once at their clubhouse. We where allowed free run of the place except for the top floor .
Interesting having several good looking nearly nude ladies dancing in front of you

I had a band that played lots of Biker gigs...Lots! Our singer was great as an emcee and had a high end wireless mic so he always got to run the wet tee shirt contests. After a few of these it's just another day. New band members could hardly contain themselves. It was funny to watch.

We had one show where there were a lot of girls in the contest. As our guy worked his way to the end of the line there was a girl leaning against a tree. He walked over and put beads around her neck as the other guy poured cold water over her. Turns out that she was a waitress just watching but she ended up winning the contest! Of course her and all the others ended up sans tops.

Trust me. There is a big difference between playing at a nudist resort compared to a wet t shirt contest or top less bar.

Gig ended up falling through but this was basically my approach. A new experience, may as well dive in. So what if the folks are pudgy, not models, and old? I'm pudgy and no model, but I'm also pretty body positive and trying to be open minded.

Well at least they didn’t leave you hanging.

My experience with gig nudity is that people that like to be naked in public have no business being naked in public!

Here's a photo I can actually post from younger days. Clothing optional Halloween party. Drummer was al fresco. I had a mask but ditched it as it was too sweaty. Lots of face, er, body paint. I remember one guy dressed in only seaweed. Good party. Very mixed crowd. Bass note - that was an original Fiesta Red 1960 Jazz Bass.

Yes I played at one about 10 years. After the initial shock, it was fun. No big deal. Normal people naked which means I saw ONE great nude woman the whole day. Everyone else was pretty much what you expect . I'd rather not have seen. But people were friendly. The money was good. We had fun. And no we kept our clothes on

Yes, I've done it. It was a weekend long festival in the southern US. I did not "go native".

You get used to the nudity pretty quickly. The vast majority of people were middle-aged and older and very typical of people that age in that part of the country. This is to say that physical beauty was not exactly in abundance. Cellulite was. Had a few interesting conversations and moments.

The food was decent, the monitors were good, and the check cleared, so all in all it was a good gig.

I went a few times to a clothing optional pagan festival called Starwood, in Upstate NY. At one of them I played an acoustic gig of sorts. Honestly don't remember if I were clothed or not, but probably was. I wasn't as comfortable as others going naked, and it took until my 3rd time before I'd do it at all...

That being said, its not what most people who haven't experienced it believe it to be. Including me.

First half an hour was weird... then it just became like a new reality. Not a big deal at all, and only seemed odd when I realized I was so used to NOT living like that.

People generally look sexier in clothes than out of them too. Something about what's hidden, and how its hidden.

That's my experience at least.

Got hooked up to sub for an old friend's husband for a gig. Looking forward to it. Guy is a good writer with a following, not really in my genre but I'm flexible. Not sure what the pay is like but probably fine, and it's not super important.

Turns out the gig is at a clothing optional resort. Oh my.

Still doing it, perhaps making a weekend of it with my wife.

Anyone got any experience with something like this?

Anyway, my advice...if you opt...
Don't stand on a wet stage and sing INTO the mike (playing your bass of course)...
