Experiment: Let's write a (TB) story!

No repairman.

She would have to swim to the island.

Yes, it appears that Rose would have to take off her clothes!

Unless of course she could convince old Mr.Toothless Gator to give her a ride out to the island.

She looked to see if she still had his number in her phone...

SHE DID!

She dialed his number; then, a voice answered and said...

After a long tine in the water she washed up on the beach almost blue from cold, she did however notice a strange bottle half emerging from the sand. She pulled of the cork and there was a great billow of smoke and a ta-da sound which seemed to come from the direction of a small hermit crab, well when I say hermit, he was more of a recluse with pretensions really, but more of him anon. Back at the aforesaid billow, a scruffy looking individual wearing a camel coat, smoking a foul cigarette and holding a large glass of what looked very much like a single malt emerged and stated " hello naked lady, I'm the Gene Genie, it's 1973, dinner time, I'm having hoops... What can I do for you?"

Gene echoed: "Gene Genie, Gene Genie, Gene Genie', like he always did and alweays will do. His father David still regrets he tought his son to speak. "Don't you stare at me", Rose said. "Get me some clothes, a good bottle of bugundy." She had a weakness for alcohol, especially wine. "That's two wishes", Gene said. He snapped his fingers and Rose was dressed, drinking burgundy of a good year. "Are you a ghost who fulfils three wishes?", she asked. "No", Gene said, "I'll do as many wishes as you can pay for. Commerce, you know. I got eight kids to feed." "How about my two wishes? Do I have to pay for those?", Mary wanted to know. "No, those are on the house, but I would appreciate it if you would return the clothes. They are quite expensive." Mary didn't know what to say, so she said...

My name is actually Rose. :p

"A genie that charges...Hmm...I don't like this."

So she began talking about Genghis Khan, and the Mongol Hordes.

About how they created the largest land empire the world had ever seen in the early 13th century, and how it all fell apart within two hundred years, mostly due to infighting.

She continued on with The Renaissance, The Reformation, Vasco De Gama; a Portuguese explorer who later invented Gama rays, and was about to start with the French Revolution, when the Genie said, "You're boring everyone with all this talk of history!"

"Talk about something people are interested in, like cell phone battery life."

This got Rose very mad.

Then, from a row of hedges a voice asked: "Are you a white rose or a red rose?"

"Who are you?" Rose demanded. "Tell me who you are right now!"

The voice answered, "I cannot reveal my identity until another three more pages in this thread have passed."

A sense of calm, and a feeling of peace, and a true understanding of why people burn the potatoes when they make shepherd's pie overcame Rose, and she said,...

"Genie, here is what I want - 25% off MSRP for wishes."

"The best I can do is 15%. Are you going to take the clothes off my kids' backs?"

"Nope. 25% off, no less." Rose replied, with the calmness of a veteran shopper who cannot be persuaded.

"Let me go talk to my manager, and see what I can do".

The genie went back a few feet and turned his back to Rose. She could see him flailing his arms and appearing to be in an intense negotiation with someone, but she held on, hoping to get a good deal on a wish or two. The genie turned to Rose and said,

"I can get you 20% off. Plus, we'll throw in the extended warranty for all wishes at no extra cost to you. You don't like your wish? Bring it back and we'll fix it."

Rose replied,

The genie relented and let Rose get 25% off MSRP for the cost of wishes. He knew he could just sucker the next [DEL]victim[/DEL] customer with the "lower monthly payment" bit, extended warranty, longer payment period, rust-proofing, and delivery surcharge.

Contented, Rose said,

"I wish for a

1850 lbs?

Was this 10 ex-boyfriends or a small automobile?

Rose looked off into the distance.

The genie followed her gaze, trying to see what she saw.

"Today is the first day of autumn in the northern hemisphere; did you know that? Many people don't care about the changing of the seasons." Rose said.

"I care," replied the genie. "Back home in Samarkand, I would always..."

"YOU'RE FROM SAMARKAND TOO?" interrupted Rose.

"Yes," replied the genie.

"Most of we genies are from the middle east or central asia."

"That's interesting, Gene; with your accent, I thought you were from Philly."

Rose then asked if Gene knew how to make a Philly cheese-steak sandwich.

Gene replied, "No, I don't know how to prepare any food, but if it is your wish for a Philly cheese-steak sandwich, I can make it so."

Rose thought for a moment and said...

Hmm I wonder who is bugging them so much that they kept texting "Stop?" Rose thought to herself. Bewildered she replied to the text with a smirk ...

Thanks ! MERGE I wasn't expecting a package so soon. YIELD I hope you didn't inundate the house with a nasty smell! 2 CARS PER GREEN So, what did the potion do?? A Monster you say?!?! ONE WAY Well, I hope you're house broken and don't drool. SLOW FOR THE CONE ZONE

The cone zone. The cone zone.

The memory came back to Rose all too clearly.

She remembered once that a boy from her high school football team playfully grabbed her one night, threw her into his car, and jokingly told her that she was being kidnapped. Rose knew he liked her, so she wasn't afraid.

He then drove straight to The Cone Zone, a popular ice cream parlor in the center of town.

He asked her what flavor she liked, she replied, "Strawberry."

He ordered her a banana split with strawberry ice cream, while he had a hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream; all the while he reminded her that she was his prisoner, and to behave or else!

When they finished the ice cream, he said, "I'll see you on Monday, Rosie; I gotta get my Dad's car back before he finds out I took it."

Rose knew that he was shy, but now she had to walk home, and not even a good night kiss?

As she entered her living room, her mother was watching the late news; they were just finishing a story about a minor car accident nearby.

"Those involved in the accident were brought to a local hospital, where they were treated and released." said the man on TV.

"Mom, something weird happened to me tonight; I too was treated and released," Rose said. :p

Rose's mom said, "Oh, don't you go making up stories, Missy! You march right up those stairs, get on the ham radio, and call...

The sound of slurping brought Rose back from her reverie: a pungent odor redolent of the armadillo, which Rose remembered was soft on the inside but crunchy on the outside, called Fred and not half as exotic as a house pet as many would have imagined, assaulted her nostrils and she sniffed inquiringly... "Sorry" said the Gene Genie, "I told you, it's dinner time and I'm having hoops but they always give me instant gas"...for some reason this sent Rose into another daydream where she felt an unreasoning desire to seek out and acquire a strangely shaped musical instrument.... "What a strange syndrome I am experiencing" thought Rose.... "Right now, though, I feel I must..."
