I don't think he intends for the orange peel to remain...read about the alternating wet sanding w/ coats of clear coat...
You're correct. I'm trying to tone down the orange peel as best as possible. I figure with 6 more coats of clear to go, I can get it smooth and even.
Mother nature was very liberal with the rain, this past weekend, so I have more waiting to do.

Yeah, I thought if I was going crazy with the body, that the neck should remotely have some love, too.
I'm still unsure of how I will address the trus rod cover. It needs something.

Man, compared to the body, the fingerboard looks so boring. You should paint it black with orange dots!
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! This!!!!!!!!! The Irishman has the answer!Some Stewmac ebony dye would do the trick...
The only issue with the dye is that it looks like you have to remove the frets to get the dye to lay down evenly. I think, if I tried it with the frets on, it may look like crap.
That's why I was looking to jazz up the headstock and use coated strings. I figure that would help tie it together and would take away from the "yawn" factor of the fingerboard.
