Would anyone here care to share their favorite Accountant settings?
I've been going back and forth lately between loving it for what it is (dirty compression), and wanting to trade it for a cleaner compressor to use with my Barbershop.

Ratio 1, Pad 2, volume to taste.
I have mine set at Ratio = 1, Pad = 1, Vol adjusted so it's the same as the pedal off. (Remember that the numerical order is different for each switch.) The Pad setting is really dependent on how hot your bass is.
This is my "always on" setting. I LOVE this pedal. Just gives that extra feel. Play normal and it's clean and tight. Drive it and it gets all warm and furry.

This is where I ended up last night.
I think idealy I would like to end up with a compressor that I'd have always on at the beginning of the chain just to sweeten things up and smooth things over a bit, but with the Accountant it's just too dirty to use in this way. I think I'm going to keep it for a while ... I'm just going to have to re-adjust the way I think about it and treat it more like an effect, suitable for some songs but not for others. Between the Accountant and the Barbershop, I've still got lots of options.
Not sure about a compressor at the front and always on. It may harm the performance of dynamic,touch sensitive pedals( such as the barbershop or 4 eyes).
I have my dirt first then the Accountant then everything else. This lets my dirt pedal be more expressive with my playing dynamics.
The Accountant doesn't have to be dirty. It just depends on how hard you hit it. Most of my basses don't overdrive the Accountant. But if I play my bass with the really hot output, it'll make the Accountant sound another distortion pedal. Unless I change the Pad setting.
How do you like the classic boost?Finally took the plunge. I've been eyeing a Barbershop for a few years...wish I hadn't listened to all the detractors - it's everything I've been searching for. Although, I guess I'm glad I held off because this always-on Modèle B is just the ticket for me!
I've got two of the three. Accountant is on all the time. Randy is for when I want to clear the bar. Thinking of a Barbershop but it's been hard for me to break away from my Vintage Microtubes.

I managed to snag the Accountant and RR from noisesupply.ca when had a boxing day discount,
I've had the VMT and I found I was always tweaking the knobs to get it sit in the mix. The Barbershop so far hasn't had that problem

I GAS so hard for a Randy's Revenge. One of these days...
I've had two Barbershops, and I'm sure someday I'll have a third. They do sit so nicely. I personally don't care at all for the DG tones/pedals.
