I’ve had a similar experience. Went through a few (both big box V1 and ME) before I found one I liked (ended up being a V1).

Yes.

From the FAQ on the Fairfield Circuitry website:

“What is the difference between the Barbershop V1 and the Millennium edition?

Starting with OD1000, the Barbershop Overdrive was changed to fit in a smaller enclosure, and the 3 position tone switch was added. The original Barbershop has a slightly higher Bass roll off (40Hz instead of 20Hz), and the Sag control may sound a little different. The circuit topology itself wasn’t changed, so the sonic differences between the V1 and the Millennium edition should be very minor.

Around OD2600, the PCB was changed to include internal trim pots, which greatly helped the calibration process. Again, no changed were made to the circuit, so there should not be any sonic difference between these two iterations.”

Hey club, Im looking for some help. I have a modele b which I have enjoyed, but have never been able to zone in on a favorite setting. Its all usually subtle and I keep changing it. Anyway, that isnt the main reason for my post.

As I add more pedals, Im not sure really where to put it. Right now I was trying to run it at the end in this chain:
Boss TU3W -> Rothwell Lovesqueeze compressor (set low) -> 903 Rune (rat clone with boost set for more of an overdrive) -> DD20 delay -> Barbershop. The problem Im having, is that it seems to get a little too compressed and not as articulate as I would like. Maybe I need to run it at 18v (which I dont have the capability of atm). Maybe I need to put the Rat before the compressor and Modele B after the compressor?

I know its good to just try things, which I am, but I thought it could be helpful to pick yalls brains about it too. So, what do ya think?

Apparently he made changes to the circuit, specifically the range of the freq knob but I feel like they’re different enough to own both because if you take a look at Fairfield’s original Demo, the lpf and mix seem to interact a little different. I tried to copy some settings here :
And my V2 ended up sounding completely different, I’ve also heard it’s a bit warmer than V2.

Do you , good people use expression pedals with your FC pedals?
If so; which one(s)ß
aRE THERE ANY GOOD 'minis' I should consider? - I really wanted the DOD and then it was gone...:-(

I use both a dunlop dvp5 and an obne expression ramper with my long life, dvp5 with lpf for a wahwah sound and expression ramper with hpf for a tremolo sound.

I was having the same discussion on TGP. one user suggested that it might be a formant filter because the the words “Fairfield Circuitry” are spelt out without any vowels in the caption.
