FAKE SPECTOR ON EBAY !

i know its real spector pics , but wanted to share this with you all . ive reported it to ebay !

anyway , hes trying to pass off a usa 5 as his work .... but this is the same guy who is selling the warwick copies .... emailed him and his reply was this :

Dear spectorfire,

hi,friend:
all the guitars are made by ourselves.
and i have uploaded all pictures to ebay list.
please check!
if you buy this bass,ebay and paypal will protect the deal!

any other question is welcomed!

Douchebag!!You don't have to contact him,ll get no response or replied with tons of crap.Believe me,that is a guitar factory producting various fake fender,gibson,totally ********.next time I'll show U some pic I took at Shandong,China,they display fake guitars the same way as they put fruits in a fruit stand,tons of fake guitar!!!!!!!

I must have come in late, as the e-bay link lists something called a 'Golden Gear' bass and not something being passed off as a Spector. I'm still suspectful that the picture is of an actual Spector branded product, in spite of the claims of the seller that it's the very instrument he's selling. If indeed he's selling Spector copies made in China, under some house brand, he's making Spector copies like it or not. It's only as legit as far as whoever holds the rights to the name , and other intellectual properties of Spector, may or may not have on their side to bring forth in a potential lawsuit to try to stop it.

Given that every major instrument brand has has to contend with copies of their work, I'm not surprised that Spector has finally seen someone entering the game copying their stuff, if indeed it's true someone is making copies, even under some house brand that no one has heard of. I'm more inclined to wonder if the so called seller actually has anything to sell in this case. I'd walk away from this clown and not look back.

I will bet that the pics are not of an actual Spector, but of a very high-quality copy. That is what these guys do: they make exact mimicries of classic products from US and EU brands. They are not bound by US/EU copyright, trademark, or intellectual property laws, because they are in China. The only thing Spector, Warwick, or anyone else can do about it is lobby with Ebay to pull down auctions featuring these copies. Rickenbacker has a team that do just that, successfully. But again, laws in the US and EU do not apply in China, and the item is being shipped directly from China. And it is 99.999% certain that the photos are of the actual item for sale, like it or not.

Who here is brave enough to take the plunge? Any takers? Should we do what we did with WishBass and have everybody contribute $25 to pay for the bass, then ship it around?

That would be false advertisement. period. It would be the same as me making a Pbass and posting an actual Fender pic in it's place.

Aside from that, did anyone ever purchased a "made in USA" Gibson (Fender, etc.) that was made in China? I am really curious about this and actually am wondering if people have been buying & selling these unknowingly.

How much similar the copy gets these days? I am seriously considering to purchase a guitar just to see that; only if I know where someone can get one. :)

A friend of mine, got a "made in America" Les Paul, you'd be very, very hard pressed to tell it wasn't legit, seriously. Looked perfect(the finish was a beautifully done cherry burst/flame top), felt perfect, definatly a LP neck, sounded just like a LP, had all the right stamps and logos, the Gibson on the headstock was *ever* so slightly off, had I not been reading up on counterfeit Gibsons that same week(what are the chances, eh?), I most certaintly wouldn't have copped it wasn't legit, perfectly carved everywhere, too.
