Farting during a show

I remember a drummer I used to jam with and he would lean to one side as he was playing to let out his gas.
The funny thing was that it didn't usually affect his playing and time....except for one occasion when he stopped playing, lifted his bum off the drum stool by about 6 inches, then lifted onto one leg and proceeded to blast so hard it sounded like a bag of ball bearings being emptied onto a granite floor.

He had to rest for a few minutes to get himself together.

I had to go to the rehearsal cafe to get us both a cup of tea because these things can be emotionally draining :D

I love how the British solve their problems. So dignified. ;)

Both my parents are British. They used to tell me I can't use the word "fart". We had to call it "flatulence". Once my sister, when she was about 4, came out of the other room crying.

"Mummmeee, Daddy fla...fla...flatutu'd. He made poopee smell so bad. It hurts my eyes." My parents eventually became Americanized and "fart" was incorportated into our lexicon shortly after.

I just farted.

I'm a teacher, so I take extra pleasure in watching my students walk into the bombs. ... :D

That'll show them for talking while I'm talking. For the record, I've recently incorporated the crop dusting technique in my classroom and LMAO when the kids start blaming each other for the stench.

Yesterday I was reading this threads in class and my kids thought I was losing my mind. Thanks boys. :p

I've just stumbled across a new combo! Texas Rio Star grapefruit, broccoli, and sausage. Not necessarily eaten at the exact same time in combination (that would taste too gnarly for even me!), but yesterday I ate a HUGE Rio Star grapefruit, the whole thing...nearly a pound! Then I had some broccoli at dinner, this morning my lovely fiancee got up at 5am to fix me breakfast...sausage and gravy over buttermilk biscuits. The results are clear- to anyone within a meter of me! I'm playing butt-trumpet that would make even Maynard Ferguson run for cover! It's glorious! :D I am getting a full range of tones- from the deep, baritone growls of the trombone (complete with pitch sliding), to the clarity and upper-register solo work of the rare piccolo butt-trumpet! Not especially stinky (partly cuz I have allergies and nasal congestion), but toneful and euphonic. I got one earlier that had a fundamental AND a harmonic! Duo-tones, anyone? :D:D:D

Great! Now the discussion turns to one of "boutique or production". This thread truly delivers. :D

Jaco did not need extended range :hiding:

Another gem in the books. Laughing hard at the desk at work as I type.

For the past 4 days of this school week we've had a bit of silent time in geography class. This one kid has a terrible problem with farts, and after spending the night at his house and sitting by him in every class I don't smell it.(That and my TERRIBLE allergies and sense of smell.) Anybody new to it though freaks out. But back to the point: We've had silent study for a few minutes at the end, and the kid just rips one EVERY DAY. Today i was the only one that snickered, but the first day i was practically on the floor, because it changed ranges. It went up a FULL OCTAVE! I'd guess it was in the key of 'A.'
