Favorite Bass DI?

Quick question on the VT, how does it cut through the mix? I'd assume its good, but I've heard a complaint or two on other sites. that's the main thing I'm looking for in this, and like i said in the previous post, i think Imma just change this thread to preamp/preamps that happen to have a DI so feel free to suggest just preamp pedals.

Had a Monique. It was good. Wish it had a bit more EQ range because it just didn't love my Barefaced cabs' mid-range.

Currently running a 3Leaf enabler. I like it a bunch. Good, clean sound, with a flexy EQ.

Also running a Tonehammer. I like the AGS for going DI to a DAW when the gain is kept low. I'm sure there are more flavorful options out there, but it is pretty good.

Lots of stuff out there now, besides just Tech 21 and Radial. The Bassbone, VT Bass, and Bass Driver will also color your tone, if that's the kind of DI you want.

If you can afford it, REDDI is a cool box.

If you want purely a DI box, that does no tone shaping but can drive a signal to a console and can sound warm this is what I use, which was suggested to me by another TB'er.

I have an older GE 12AX7A in mine, and it works pretty well. It's only a starved plate design, but the tube still works in the audio path. It does add some hiss at higher gain, but they can also be modded to fix a lot of it, and they're dirt cheap in the first place. I liked it so much I bought the ART Pro MPA II with GE 12AX7WA to drive a power amp and use Tech 21 preamps.

I gotta say, I was really impressed with my M-80, I used it in Church so I didn't use the distortion channel but the clean tone through the PA was great, added a great presence to my tone. I'm really glad I'm picked that up.

I still stand by my earlier love of the REDDI in this thread, but Ampeg sent me the SCR-DI a couple days ago (it's good to be an endorser!), and it's turning out to be quite a nice little box. Very simple to use and get good sounds out of in a hurry, and the Scrambler overdrive is pretty much idiot-proof and has a good range of overdrive tones from mild grind to near-fuzz.

I'm late to the conversation, but I'll say REDDI. There is no better DI, IMHO. In second place (for me) is the Countryman Type 85, it is astoundingly good for the price. I would put the Monique in there, but I've never used one, so I have no real opinion. I've heard a couple, and they are wonderful, but without playing one...

I'm very interested in stomp-box DI options and have narrowed my search to EBS-II/Enabler/ToneHammer. Curious to know if anyone uses the effects loop on theirs? I'm quite enamored with the idea of having my time based effects inside of a DI signal and Octave/Fuzz inline.

Thoughts/feelings/suggestions/carrots?
