Once you taste the joy of fretless, you may enjoy listening to Damian Coccio, as I do. (He plays fretted as well.)
Full disclosure: I am affiliated with these guys now (just shot a couple pedal videos with me as host, coming out soon), but only because I've been a fan and became friends with them a couple years ago. The Bass Channel on youtube, formerly 'Bassic Gear Review' but they changed the name when they started doing other types of videos.
The review type videos are basically just facts and tones without much editorializing because everything is subjective, but they've also delved into things like tonewood and bass aging and pricepoints and things of that nature.
There is a slightly metalhead bent to it just because so many of us enjoy metal, but it's not nearly the entirety of it. Lots of contributors, some more known than others, have sent in direct-recorded riffs for reamping through all the various gear for comparison's sake, things like that. That's why I like the channel - it isn't all virtuosic playing and cherry picked sounds; there is something for almost everyone.
Hopefully my plugging the channel doesn't run afoul of anything.
