Favorite childhood toys...

Youngster in the 50s. Favorites were American Bricks, Erector sets, wind up cars. Did like my pistols and rifle that actually shot the plastic bullets with Greenie Stickum Caps.

When my boy was young it was his Legos.

I was lucky enough to see the transition from standard blocks through to the 'technical' stuff...gears, rack and pinion steering, suspension, pneumatics...blew my tiny little mind.

It was the gold one I had -man I loved that car -first "technical" sort of toy I had that I can remember and of course, JB was the inimitable Shir Shean at the time
Yours would have been the RM version, Lotus...also ultra cool!

...and yes lads, it is Lego - singular!!

I collected GI Joe toys. As a child, I always wished I could have owned the USS Flagg. Set up, it is huge! It's about as long as a pool table.

I had this when I was a kid. I thought it was the greatest thing in the world. It was right around the time when the space program was starting to take off.

As yeeeah, the space capsule. Good stuff- I had the hard hat diver, skin diver(w/scary rubber shark) & a bunch more. My talkers worked alright for awhile

A cardboard telescope with interchangeable eyepieces that when you took out one of the focusing tubes, turned into a microscope. Opened my eyes to a lot of things.

Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Legos, Tonka toys (big, metal and durable!), army men, cap guns. One of my earliest memories is of a gray submarine bathtub toy that shot little red missiles straight up. Of course, it wouldn't pass safety standards today, like a lot of toys from way back when.
