Yeah, Planet of the Apes were schizzle in '74. I think I still have a few floating around somewhere at my folks place plus many Tonka trucks. My mom was totally into saving our childhood toys.

It was the 50's/60's for me.

The Mattel Fanner 50 pistol and the Rifleman Rifle! I loved them both. For those not in the know, you snapped the bullet into the spring loaded casing, and then loaded them into the magazine and cylinder just like real guns. They shot pretty accurately too and struck fear into my army men.;)


My other favorite was the Vac-U-Form.

when I was about 6 (1990) we had this giant set of puzzle pieces. I have no idea what they were called, but each piece was a different color -red, green, blue, yellow. I had my ninja turtles and street sharks, and they were cool but I got bored with them quickly. Those puzzles I could spend all day with, creating all sorts of stuff.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please fill me in! I've been looking for them on the interwebz but can't find em

I had legos too....didn't quite tickle my fancy :hiding:

When I was a kid my brothers and I would play in the pile of sand that collected at the end of the sidewalk. I don't know what we were doing but it must have been important because we'd spend hours messing around over there. The best part was when it would rain and a big puddle would form so we could make dams out of twigs and mud. That would be fun but I don't know what the appeal of dry sand was.

The best toys were a big case of Hotwheels and Matchbox cars and one of those spiffy car rugs with the roads and buildings on them. Our dog took lots of dumps on it but it wouldn't stop us from playing on the rug.
