May as well put my two cents in, Randy Rhoads ripping solo on S.A.T.O off the Diary of a Madman album, KILLER!!
Yeah, Time is another masterpiece. It's hard to choose, but I'm going with Money.
Nice. I was always partial to his solo on I DONT KNOW!!
Maybe I'm a sucker for the classics, but Jimmy Page's solo on Whole Lotta Love still gets my fist pumping every time.
I really have too many to have a favorite, but that just came to mind when I read the thread title.
Many people are shouting out Gilmour, I personally think his "best" solo is on Confortably Numb. And regarding the Steely Dan calls, not sure who played it but the whole song and solo for Don't Take Me Alive is just over the top too good.
I could go on and on and on here....

"Favorite" is hard to do with guitar solos, but if someone said "Alex, ESL, La Villa", I'd have a hard time disagreeing.

Cream (Clapton)...the last minute of White Room.
Particularly his work on The Final Cut (1983).
Honorable mention to Larry Carlton's work on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" from The Royal Scam (1976).
Beautifully simple and uniquely memorable...to me anyway

For me, it has to be Eric Clapton's lead in "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". I think he pretty much nailed the weeping part.
