Wow, only 1 Hendrix so far...so much beautiful guitar in the world, but for "favorite", well, this:

Issac Hayes's 'the look of love' on the to be continued album circa 71-73? About half way thru the song. Whoever that guy is he's a master on the wah.

Snarky Puppy's What About Me? has a great guitar solo somewhere close to the middle. Maybe a minute in? Dunno. Can't hear it at the bar I'm in.

Absolute favourite? I can't even begin to choose, but my default answer in these cases (preferred recording, song, band, whatever) since I was 15 has been the live version of "Telegraph Road" by Dire Straits from Alchemy - um, solos are scattered throughout and all recommended, but the final epic starts at 9'05'':

Took the words from my mouth. The original recording of Telegraph Road is the music I want playing at my funeral, and Knopfler's guitar work on Alchemy is top-shelf from beginning to end.

My second favorite would be Alex Lifeson in Limelight.

I think my number one, though, would have to David Gilmour in Dogs, starting at 5:30 in this vid. The most godly of guitarists, this guy:
