Actually, it inspires me to do so, because I listened to every one of those videos.....so simple. It's rubbish. Are you takin' the piss? I could write tabs for those songs (even lead guitar) in 5 minutes. Musically inventive? And you lot are criticising Audioslave? Opeth, and all.

Uh... those videos were entire albums. That's honestly just impressive that you sat and listened to 5+ hours of music and are certain you could tab it all out. That's rad man.

The OP said "from after 1990," which is loose and doesn't have to mean that the band didn't form until after 1990. If they had their main height of productivity and popularity in the 90s, that's sufficient. People think of Nirvana as a 90s band the same as they think of Duran Duran as an 80s band (formed 1978) and Led Zeppelin as a 70s band (formed 1968).

"Rock" IS a loose and vague label that DOES includes a lot of different stuff. It's a genus label, while those others are species labels. If you excluded every band that could be placed in a subgenre as "not rock," then you'll wind up with pretty much no rock at all - or a grab bag of odds and ends that don't quite fit anywhere else. People have pretty much avoided listing jazz, folk, classical or country musicians here. The thread is pretty much doing what I think the OP intended.

Which is why real rock is dying.

We could loose the world "rock" and replace it with "music" since it incompass everything.

What is real rock then? It doesn't encompass everything, but it always has contained a lot. Hence the terms southern rock, blues rock, pop rock, punk rock, hard rock, etc. Those aren't exactly new designations. Even if you can name what exactly real rock is, I doubt you could get any kind of consensus to agree.

Unless it's already included in a sub genre (rock-n-roll, hard rock, psych rock, garage rock, prog rock, stoner rock, indi rock, punk rock, the various metal genres, etc), I personally define it as music that was performed or recorded live by people playing (mostly) electric amplified instruments which always contain strings and drums. Not a lot of 'button pushing' being done to make sounds.

There are a few AWSOME new bands doing Rock music out there.
The band that is really driving me crazy since I started playing attention to them is a Swedish band called Casablanca. Ryan Roxie was involved.
All I can say is that they are High Class. Stellar. They should be selling out stadiums right now. Or at least touring clubs all over the world. They have released 3 albums, here there is a song out of each:



Check them out. They deserved some recognition.
