Favorite Star Trek episodes.

The Breen, huh? They were cool. Would’ve been nice for some more character development with them, though I suppose they were there to be mysterious. Their ruthlessness really took you by surprise. They were one of the few alien races that directly attacked earth.

Yeah, I also liked how even the universal translators couldn't translate their language

Anyway... Star Trek has really poor isolation and prophylactic protocols. Does the planet have a breathable atmosphere? Yes? Are there pathogens? Let us find out using all the senior members of crew!

Shall we take supplies in case we get stranded (happens often). Of course not! It's like the people who hike up Ben Nevis in october in flip flops because it's sunny.

Military tactics on away missions are like Waterloo. When the shooting starts it is considered sporting to stand in red in plain view

i've enjoyed all of the iterations, and all of the movies, but my favorite character (as character development goes :D ):

She was very sexy and that’s why she was there, but I really liked here character too. She was interesting and really funny from time to time. Also gorgeous. Of all her lovely features, those lips. Oof. Fantastic. I have no doubt the show would’ve been canceled long before seven seasons without her.

Also (and I'm on a roll), there's a real lack of banter. In every workplace I've been in there's been some, and on TOS and TNG they work together for years

That's the "reality" of TV. Nothing unnecessary is included.

For me, one appeal of the Star Trek parody series "The Orville" is the trivial banter and other details that are part of real life, but which are rarely present in typical programs. It provides a "verisimilitude" that I enjoy.

It's like 24. I really have concerns for Bauer's kidneys. Nearly as much as Sutherland's liver.
