Favorite Star Trek episodes.

My favorite ST series is Deep Space Nine. Of all the episode my favorite (and arguably the best) is "In the Pale Moonlight". Second favorite is "Siege of AR-558". Brings home that the war wasn't just starships but real troops on the ground. Another is a follow up to that episode, "It's Only a Paper Moon".

IF I had to choose an episode from the others, they would be:
TOS - "City on the Edge of Forever"
TNG - "Tapestry"
VOY - "Year of Hell" or "Bride of Chaotica!"
ENT - "Carbon Creek"

I only watched the first episode of Discovery. That was enough for me.

Carbon Creek was a great episode of ENT:

That two-parter on Vulcan was good, too. (Awakening)
Oops, it's 3 parts, with Awakening in the middle.

My favorite episode of all time, across all series (and I've watched each in its entirety except Discovery):

DS9: The Visitor. When I was a kid, it was poignant. But after my dad died in 2006, when I was 25, the first time I rewatched it after that (and it was a few years after, at least 2010 when I finally got Netflix streaming), the full weight of that episode hit me like a...well, like a two ton heavy thing (points for anyone who gets that reference)

TNG was my favorite series, probably because I grew up watching weekday reruns while eagerly awaiting the new episodes that aired on our local CBS affiliate every Saturday evening. I have to admit I'm not very good at remembering the names of the episodes, but I must also vote for The Inner Light as my favorite, as well as the arc where Picard is captured by the Cardassians.

"THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!"

Voyager
is probably my least favorite installment. Overall, a fair show, but I can't recall a single episode I would call a favorite. I also enjoyed Enterprise quite a lot, but like Voyager, I don't remember any particular story that really made an impact.

YOY - "Year of Hell" or "Bride of Chaotica!"

Took me a minute to figure out YOY...but I also like Year Of Hell.
7 of 9 as a Jazz/torch singer? Perfect.

@DS9, though I'm blanking on the title, the one where they basically are put into a simulation about the Dominion taking over was great.

That series was far more about political issues in the first 5 seasons. Then it became Klingons in space and went downhill.

W/O dax it was nearly unwatchable and it ended badly.

TNG - "Tapestry"

I really do love that episode, even though it is rated barely above "mediocre: among most ST fans.

I believed that it's difficult to relate to because it's such a "talky" episode. The only action on screen is the 10 second fight where Picard is stabbed through the heart during a bar brawl in his youth.

I totally get into the whole philosophical premise where young people who take chances (even irresponsible ones) are more likely to grow up having exceptional lives. In the alternate reality, Picard played it safe as a young man and found himself as an old man with no notable accomplishments.

I think that is worth spending time thinking about.

Star Trek TNG baffles me. They can materialise a cup of tea, but don't have a drone to bring it to you.

And everywhere is tidy, but no cleaning staff or droids. And everyone is some sort of neat freak - you never see a discarded pair of space knickers in a cabin.
No one has BHPD.

And why does the future rely on people who are such lousy shots rather than have aiming computers built into phasers?

With the ability to magic up ice cream and bacon at any time, how is everyone so trim?

Also, given how impressive much of the tech is, hour come when Pickard has had a hard day his magic teasmaid doesn't suggest it could make a tea? Even a pretty inattentive spouse can manage that.

And you never hear mention of Federation condoms, despite Kirk's, erm, habits. Maybe that's why he likes those alien ladies so much - they never ask. Yet he never goes to Bones with intergalactic herpes.

Garek is the real deal...

And I have to presume everyone is on some special federation low methane diet, or that those sleek trousers have activated carbon gussets.
Throughout your entire "roll"...you didn't mention how/who/why the Away Team is (more often than not) comprised of your-
