This may have come up before, but what are the sonic differences between the DE-CL and the Opti-FET?

The Opti-FET has an inherently warm, smooth, fat tone. Also the EQ in the sidechain can be used to shape the response in a way that also emphasizes aspects of your tone. The DECL has less inherent tone shape, and no sidechain EQ; however it has a knob that adds a controllable amount of fattening/warmth/slight dirt.

I feel the Opti-FET impacts the tone in more of a broad "organic" way, while the DECL is more of a precision tool.

These are possibly subtle and DEFINITELY subjective differences though; I wouldn't be the least bit surprised or bothered if somebody else hears them differently.

The good news is that last month was the largest production month we have had yet. We will be tweaking things as we move forward to make the cycle times even shorter.

I hope you will eventually shorten the waiting time dramatically. 18 months is a real long time to wait for a pedal. Nothing beats actually having stock. Makes impulse buying SO much easier...

Just got my Opti-Fet last week and used it at rehearsal this past weekend. All I can say is OMG. I have the Empress and think it still is a great compressor but the Opti-Fet is in a whole league of it's own. Slammin'. Thanx Frank

We just finished the last of the Opti-FET builds two weeks ago. The last four months we have been cranking out Opti-FET’s to significantly reduce that waiting list…. We did it!!!! We actually had some extras to put up on the website.

These past two weeks Ryan and Pat have been busy doing prep work for the multiple DE-CL builds (power boards, main boards, cables, jacks…etc). We hope to have the same results as the Opti-FET builds, where we can significantly reduce or possibly eliminate that waiting list. So, at this time the first DE-CL batch should be ready in about 3-4 weeks.

I'm on "the list" for a DE-CL as well. Not sure if mine will be in this batch coming up but I sure hope so.
