Hi Guys,
Thank you all for the outstanding support and understanding! After a month, I finally made it back home from the two ICU’s at different hospitals and rehab. I felt like some of your pedal boards with all of the cables and connections that they made to me… although I’m sure that I didn’t sound anywhere near as great as your pedal boards.
The one thing that I am most grateful for is that I beat the odds with an intracerebal hemorrhagic stroke and lung collapse with blood clots. I was told by several Dr.’s and various other specialists that my odds for living was no better than 16% with that type of stroke and even much less with the lung complications that came soon after (my girlfriend was told to prepare for the worst), so I am so grateful I made it!!!! I am one truly lucky bastid!!!!!
One of the issues stroke victims suffer from, along with all of the other problems, is a lot of us will loose some cognitive brain functions. That is some scary stuff, not being able to remember the things learned in your life. So, I started to immediately test myself to see what I can remember…. Grateful once again, I feel that I am still 100% mentally intact, which was my worst fear during these past two weeks. Like one poster said before, that working on hobbies and work can be a great a therapeutic method to healing, and I couldn’t agree more.
As for FEA, we are marching forward. Ryan and Pat have taken the reins for a while and are in DE-CL prep work now. I will be taking on a much smaller role for a while, working on gaining some physical strength and mobility. I hope to soon be answering emails and continuing design work that was started before I fell ill.
You guys rock and I thank you for it!!!!!

They run in my family, so I've seen first hand how devastating they can be. You are a very fortunate man and blessed!! I hope you regain all your strength fast and your life just keeps getting better from this point!!

The first 4 days in ICU they actually shrank my brain by a saline solution and nearly no water intake, so your compression comment is spot on. It felt like my Docs were trained in Gitmo torcher techniques.

JWR, sorry to hear about your grandfather. If his stroke was anything like mine and he passed with its onset, then he may have passed fairly peacefully. I had no pain when it hit me and you fall into a deep numbness... really, if I had a choice of ways to leave this earth, this would be in my top 5.
