I tried it with the 15/6/1 and a TL 606/3015. One less cab to carry around.

Heh. I didn't even bother.

My Berg HT115 has been in its cover since I first tried my 15/6. And my Schroeder 1212 has become our keyboardist's choice of on stage speaker cab.

I think there is a cutlist for 5X5 sheets of ply. Why are you wanting to use 3/4"? The plans call for 1/2". 3/4" only adds unnecessary weight, and you'll have to modify the plans to account for the extra width of material.

I used 5 ply Arauco and I had to add extra bracing. 1/2" ply is the ideal thickness, but the higher the ply count the stiffer the board is.

And if you plan on giving the cab high power, plan on making it as stiff as possible.

1/2" Baltic should be 9-ply. I would not recommend 3-ply Birch. That's what I used and it splintered really bad while cutting and there's voids on the front edges of some of the sides. If/when I do another one, it will be using the best wood I can find.

Hey all you guys who have been kind enough to answer all my questions, thanx again! I guess I just have to decide on wether or not to add a hf horn in the cab. Sounds easy enough. I think I will be happy either way by the sounds of all your comments. I did notice that because of the newer style mid offered by 18 sound, a alteration is suggested on Greenboys site. So does this mean that the corssovers that come with the speaker kits have the adjustments made? I was going to orer the pre-assembled ones. They offer 2 types also,...one that's 125 volt, and one that is 220 volt,.....not sure if I have that quite right but does anyone know which one I should choose? Almost ready to order speakers and get this puppy making some noise....:)

I would assume that the crossovers that Leland has are the newest spec, per Greenboy. The specs listed for the components in the crossover almost always give you a solid choice or an 'upgrade' choice. You'll be fine with the standard one, unless you're like me and you want to go for the 'why not, I have the dollars and I'm only doing this once' attitude.

Yes, they are for the newer 6NM410. Greenboy told me the difference was very slight. From Leland's site regarding the crossover...

Please choose either the standard 100v 1250w 6% electrolytic capacitor for the shunt, or the 250v 2400w poly. Sonically there is no difference, only power handling.

Ok then! I read your most recent comments earlier and then ordered speakers/xovers/etc.....decided to go w/out the hf horn. I will post some pics of the finished product in a week or so when all the parts come and I actually finish. Can't wait to hear this thing. Should be great to have 1 cab that can do it all in some of the venues I play. Would love to get on the builders list eventually. I actually enjoy building speaker cabs. Be great to have a pile of sawdust from these things....:) Looking at the BFM cabs too. It's a nice change to think "outside the box" (no punn intended) and see what's happening with these kind of cabs. Thanx again you guys,.....been a great help for me.

I would always recommend everyone get the horn and put a switch on it. Better to have and not need if you know what I'm sayin'.

Adding a horn triples the audience if you ever want to sell it to fund something else, too.

It wouldn't be difficult to add the tweeter later if one ever found the need. That was my thought when I built my 12/6 w/o tweeter. Of course, after using it for the past year (and building a 2nd one) I haven't found that need.

They're really very different speakers, minus the name. The fEARful cabs are not designed for or around the 3015. I don't know that its been modeled, but look for it not to be anywhere near what a fEARful is.
