Speaking of grills I ordered one from TCH that greenboy has listed as a source for Canadian customers. 15 3/8th" x 20 1/8" is what I got, mine has carpet on it so its slightly smaller so it fits for $21 + $15 or so shipping for a grill for the 12/6 which seemed very reasonable. Definitely recommend them for any Canadian builders.
One of the corners had a slight bend which I assumed was from shipping but slight enough I didn't even bother trying to bend it back.
I might paint it blue someday but I'm just happy to have it done

Grills from Reliable Hardware in the US are probably the best bet for custom cut grills. While you're at it, get their grill standoff kit and use it along with something on the grill standoff. Look for the custom grill to set you back in the $25 range.
I didn't use gasket tape on my builds. The 3015LF came with gasket on the speaker mounting ring and my 6" was a press fit with no leaking. I used silicone caulk to seal the handles and jackplate.
For the grill stand off I found a dense foam tape that was very low profile (much lower than garden variety home insulation foam tape). I found it at the local NAPA autoparts place and they had it listed as camper sealing tape/gasket. It was cheap, and is enough for maybe 6 cabs or more.
Remember, the more places you do smaller orders with, the more shipping costs you're going to see. That was a MAJOR expense in my builds. So if you can save up and order from fewer people do it. Nothing like buying 8 dollars worth of parts and it costing 18 bucks to ship it.
Oh and check into buying a 16oz side of Duratex...it will save you a lot off of that 50 something dollar expense.

Razor, if you're ordering from Leland, he has Duratex in a quart kit. Should be more than enough to cover your cab, a bit less $$
Do you think a pint would be enough for a full 12/6 cube cab? Or should I get two? I was going to get a gallon because from the description it sounded like one pint wasn't enough. speakerhardware.com doesn't appear to sell by the quart.

Search function yielded a reference for my question here: I'm using a Trace-Elliot AH250SMX head, which is 250w @ 4 ohms. The 15/6 is an 8 ohm cab, so my amp will not deliver its full brunt into the cab; I'm probably looking at 150w or so. Seems a little light... is this true? Do I need a bigger amp to run this rig?
It likely depends on how loud your playing environments are. 150w is probably not loud enough for a rock band, but for backing up a singer/songwriter on an acoustic? Sure.

Received the driver for my 12/sub yesterday. Thanks Leland! So my 12/6-12/sub is complete except for the latches to hold them together when I want to wheel them around. Sounds great. I wish I had more power to drive them. I'm using a GK 400RB-IV head that I bought for small gigs & back-up. Soooo 280 watts max. Still sounds good I just want to be able to go to 11! Thanks again to GB for the design. Can't wait till I get a more powerful head to drive the set-up. Until then my neighbors are safe!
As stated above, it depends on your needs. Perhaps it would be good to compare with what you're running now. What cab are you using with that head? If we know that, then we can make an educated guess as to how the 15/6 will compare to what you're currently using.
And- playing everything from large-stage FOH gigs to Blues/Stax catalogue to a basement original rock band. Sometimes a reggae gig with minimal PA, but I haven't done that with this little rig yet.
You can get alot of volume out of a single 15/6, but won't be able to use everything the cab can offer.
Using a 500x in dual mono gives me basically two of your stacks, and it is awesome. I'll experiment with a single cab a bit maybe.
This is going to be why I go with the BFM Omni15TB with the 2x12 option, I guess. 4 ohms, and I'll learn to get what I want out of it. Tall-ish and relatively light compared to the Trace 4x10 90+ pounder, it'll be a breeze to carry around.
I just ain't in the way of getting another head now- I have to use what I've got. Mostly I need a lighter, 4 ohm cab, and one that'll get the most out of my amp. We shall see...
If you were set on a 4 ohm cabinet, there's always the fEarful 12/12/6 if you don't have any intention of using two cabinets. It's worth noting there's nothing wrong with not taking advantage of the cabinet's full potential. The FAQ can probably help you understand what the fEarfuls will do volumewise without pouring in watts.
I'll have to take some time and go do that. I'm just busy, always, with life at home and time is no friend of mine! But yeah, good idea, I really hadn't thought of it! Thanks for the rather obvious suggestion!
