Neobassman, Great build and excellent documentation of the whole process!

Anybody else get shop envy from those pictures? He's probably even got heat in there!

I bet you can't stop at just one fEarful. Not only are they fun to build, you can go out and play with them.

Thanks dude. I don't know about having skills though, I had a finish carpenter friend help me with the box, and Burning Skies gave me a good deal of help on the x-over via pm. I pieced everything else together, and I think I can build the box myself after learning a few tricks, in fact; i am tossing around the idea of building a 12/6/1 cube to use as a smaller stand alone, or supplement the 15/6, and use as a stage monitor.

You can never have too many clamps!

I installed braces first and cut all the holes. Biscuits to hold the parts in place. Then I glued everything in a quick sloppy frenzy and put the clamps to it. I ran out of room before I ran out of clamps.

I'm a little slow on the uptake with the Wiki page. How do I add to it? I've got lots of pictures and I'd like to add some text. There are a couple builds in the works now I'd like to document.

Thanks!

Shop Envy? I built my 12/6 with a jig saw in the kitchen. I painted on my deck. Shop Envy? It's a lot more than envy at this point brothers.

Awesome job Neobassman. I bet it sounds as incredible as it looks.

I haven't tried, but the Krylon fusion plastic paint works extremely well on the melded arrays I build. They're abs, and it sticks like glue. I'd wager it would work fine.

Sweet. I bought paint along those lines for my melded array, and was thinking of painting the corners to match.

I just got done takin my 15/6 for a test run, and all I can say is wow. Before I was playing through a Carvin V210t and an old Fender BXR 15 cabinet that had the electronics ripped out, and now, I'm kickin myself for not building a 15/6 earlier. Took a little while to dial in the tone I like, but after I got that, I couldn't be more happy about the new cab.

OK, I blew my 3015LF.

I have two questions:
1. Are they reconable?
2. Would it be OK to use a regular 3015 to get me through tonight's gig?

I have other cabinets I can use including a TL606 with the 3015 in it, but I'm hooked on this sound now. I also have a JBL 2226HPL I can use, if anyone thinks that will be a better choice (not happy about the weight though).

Thanks for any and all advice in advance,
Edwin

how did you blow it?

I just got off the phone with them and they say there are no official kits yet. They offered to do a 3rd party kit, but with all the effort that's gone into a tightly spec'ed cab, I'm a little leery of doing anything that will skew the specs.

Thanks for chiming in!
I think I'll just probably get another new one and then get this one reconed when Eminence gets the kits out there. In the meantime, I should probably get my act together and get a 12/6/1 in production so I don't have to hit this one so hard!

Hey Greenboy,

I have a question for you...

First off, I want you to know that this is my first real cabinet build and I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly.
I'm in the process of building the 15/6tube cab and I finished cutting all the panels as per the plans you have listed on your site. I started dryfitting the panels first but I've run into a problem. I might be wrong here, but I think the top and bottom panels on your cutlist should be 23x16 (not 23x15.5). Then again, I'm new to all this cabinet building and maybe I'm just overlooking something.

Thanks
JC

Unsolicited advice to neobassman ...
Beauty job on the construction and the documentation! Far as the Eden cab goes... There is your excuse to build a 12.6 ! The 12.6 is the single most useful cab I've ever used... Previously that title was held by a Bag End D-10XD. My 12.6 will bury it at half the weight and just a tad bigger... Just the thing for introducing unsuspecting diners to the 'brown note' at that lounge gig :D

Unsolicited 'pimp' to Singlemalt - yeah, I got snow. I got snow this morning at Meadows. (now, you got job? I have a tougher time with that ...) Got huge snow earlier this week up at Steven's Pass. What a cool hill! Dude, we gotta road trip that one sometime... I'm goin back for sure.

You scope the slide pic's from Meadows ? They don't call it A-zone for nothing...
