Fender '70s Precision Bass

You people should learn the FMIC codes. "026-" means "Asian production."

Uh-huh. Last I checked, Japan was in Asia.
That's right. And Japan is not in Mexico. You pass geography!

And though 025- is the usual indicator for electrics of Japanese manufacture, 026- is (or has recently been) used for Fenders made in Korea, Japan and Indonesia.

Not for Mexico, however. ;)

Fender product codes are full of interesting information.

This looks like a Dyna-Gakki export product.

So I've heard talk that this bass is made in Japan, not Mexico. Now ain't that a hoot.

I saw one in Alto Music in Olympic White last week and after playing it for a long while, decided to put a deposit on it... The pics don't do justice to this bass. It feels great in my hands and sounds sweeeeeet... I'm having it strung with flats...

Hi folks, just joined here. Currently playing a Yamaha RBX270 but I'm tempted by one of these - mainly just because they look so cool, which is the important thing obviously. :D

Need to decide if I can handle having a maple fretboard, so I guess I need to try playing one somewhere. Looking forward to seeing some more pics/opinions.
