Fender Aerodyne Club!

I recently took a Hipshot Vintage bridge to my disc sander and shaved a little off the sides then carved a couple larger radius corners to match the rout in my Aero-P. The bottom plate is a little shorter, but the overhang hides any discrepancies. MUCH better bridge IMO.

At any rate, I liked it so much that I sent specs to Hipshot and they're whipping me up a custom Vintage bridge to fit the Aero rout exactly. Can't wait to see the end result! Until then, here's some pics of the modified bridge.

I love Hipshot. Such a cool company.

I've owned a lot of fenders. American, Japanese, Chinese, and Mexican. This one....is far and away the best of all of them. The finish is perfect. The bridge adjusts more smoothly an accurately than on any other bass I've owned. Same goes for the responsiveness of the truss rod and the pickups are fantastic. Everything seems to be stock, but the pups aren't at all noisy and each of them sounds perfect. The frets are smaller than I'm used to,but that's fine. It's a thing of beauty.

I'm happy with the bridge. I don't see any reason to change it.

Someday I might put lighter tuners on it cuz it neck dives pretty bad but that doesn't really bother me.

Oh, and even the strap pins are awesome. Beefy and solid. Fender Japan knows what their doing.

I think its the prettiest Fender ever, sure a old P is cool but its rather plain and so common. This is unique, sleek, modern and stunning and I dislike gold hardware but with this bass I think it fits better then chrome or black as it hints off the red and orange colors, it would be cool to see with the smoked chrome though.

Ive had my Aerodyne for about 6 months or so and I still cant "love" it. Lots of people love this bass, I cant' seem to get into it. I'm gonna put a Babicz bridge and some Rotosound strings to hopefully liven it up. Last resort will be new pickups. Just like my P basses so much better. I will keep trying though

Did you get the new one from Hipshot? I may be looking for one as well.
