Agreed, and this is the very point I made earlier (although my estimates for resale were approximately $200 higher based on resale values in my area). But assuming your numbers are in fact more accurate, then you foresee an even greater loss of value upon driving her off the lot then I do.

Maybe I'm foolish or a dreamer...

BUT...

In a future world where the FADE ceases to exist (judging by all the negative comments I'm reading all over the place, I wouldn't be surprised if that's sooner than later), and choices with Fender become more limited than they ever have in history... or... maybe there's no Fender at all anymore...

One of the more oddball FADE builds where only a few were ever assembled MIGHT... and I said MIGHT... have the potential to rake in some serious coin for the collectors.

I mean, it's quite possible that there might be only 10 or 12 of some particular combos to exist... maybe even less.

If Fender history has taught us anything, when they only make a few of something (even when it's just "parts" thrown together) it can become collectible and even possibly valuable.

Granted, we might all be dead before that happens, but it's fun to think about.

Actually expand and expound are both correct.

They both mean to express at length or in greater detail. Anecdotally I think expand is used more often in verbal discourse and expound in the written word. But, again, they both mean the same thing.

I'll not bother explaining your flaws of logic - this thread has become overrun with keyboard tough-guys who are looking to sword-fight, and I'm just a bass player who has been buying & selling gear since the '70s. Clearly, you guys know best.

With this order I went pretty much "full modern" and got what amounts to be a current American Standard, only with a maple fingerboard, black pickguard and ash body... it has the modern neck with graphite reinforcement, high mass modern bridge, Custom Shop 60's pickups and modern ATA case.

Damn you, Fender.

DAMN YOU!!!

Here's hoping this will be available in Canada someday soon. I could foresee myself "cobbling" together something nice.

Ash/Maple/Anodized aluminum, modern Am. P neck, 58 pup, modern Am. hardware. With tweed case of course!
Modern 50s style but no covers, no tug bar, no extra holes the way I like them. I'd rock it.
