Received my Am Pro II Precision last week. I absolutely love it already.
It’s light, comfortable, the neck is fantastic (smooth and great shape).
Sound wise, only played it through my small combo and it was just ok. Looking forward to playing it on a better and bigger amp in practice next week!

cool bass..... do you angel your pickups or keep them straight? and don't they use tall vintage narrow frets on these basses?
They’re at a slight angle. It’s the correct thing on a PB, right?

I agree. Small issue with V-mod II jazz 5 pickups and replaced them with Lollars. Pro II is really shining in playability having better feeling neck than my 2008 AM Jazz 5 and bass is bit lighter and more balanced while having similar great sustain. Rolled edges feel smooth and neck profile is perfect and fast feeling. Tuners feel smaller and strings are challenging to roll on but I wouldn't change them because of the balance and weight. In the end great bass, and more than I was expecting to get.

Would please describe your issue(s) with V-Mod II’s? How are the Lollars better for you? Congrats on a great new bass.
Thanks. If you go back 1-2 pages you can find my detailed thoughts in 2 posts. Generally B string was lacking punch and were bit too compressed. Lollars sound like I think Jazz should sound and are rich in harmonics and good in low end punch. Very even sounding from string to string. V-mod had also good harmonics and even feeling, probably wouldn't change them in 4 string jazz.
I ordered a Professional II fretless jazz, should be here tomorrow. Anything better than NBD on a Friday? I don't think so.
These basses are Awesome! For those that question the price I would refer them to Music Man to buy a MIA Stingray and then compare the Am Pro 2s. BTW I love Stingrays but I think the price is just too much. I will leave G&L out of it because I have always got my money's worth from them.
It seems Fender has raised prices in the past several months all across its product lines, including Am Pro II basses.
They are fantastic basses. The V II pickups sound great. Honestly, they are better than the CS Fenders. If you're going classic, the MIM Vintera and Road worn series are just as good.

Oddly enough I was at Guitar Center the other day and they had a Dark Night Jazz with a Rosewood board despite not showing that combination on Fender's website. Either it's exclusive to GC or someone there switched out the rosewood neck for a maple and stuck the rosewood on the Dark Night body. They said it was new and the price was 1499.99
I tried the Fender Professional II Jazz with the roasted pine body recently and I was impressed. I'm no expert and at my level of playing I probably don't deserve a bass like this, but I think it's a realy good instrument.
When I picked it up from the rack I was surprised by how light it is. Everything on this bass has a high quality and smooth feeling. It balances perfectly and it sounds great. It has a warm sound with a nice attack, if that makes any sense.
I think I'll go back to try it one more time. It's the best bass (for me) I tried so far. Very comfortable, lightweight, smooth and warm sounding. And it looks good too.

So what does everyone think about fender jacking the prices up 200 dollars 1750 for a p bass is out of the question. I bought mine brand new in 2020 when they released this. it was a perfect replacement for gigs of my old fender American deluxe that I turned passive. When I first bought this it was awesome and worked like a charm after i a/b the basses the deluxe still was so much better it just sounded great no matter what I threw at it. This bass does do a better hard rock at best. But my deluxe does better all around. Now it’s 2022 I’ve owned this for over a year now and I’m having huge issues. First it’s checking easily. I played this outside once in the summer and haven’t had this outside of my house since ( not many gigs this year) second I’ve had to adjust the neck two times about to be a third. And the big one the feral in the back of the bass fell out changing strings out of no where I don’t abuse basses and take good care but when this happened I was not very happy since this is my most expensive bass I’ve bought. I’m planning now to replace the pickups with the nordstrand np4 my go to for pickups To hopefully get the sound of the deluxe and to fix the neck and feral in the back. I’m not very happy with this bass it’s been on my bench a lot this year. I bought an Reverend mercalli 4 this year to try. This is an amazing bass now is 750 dollars cheaper than this fender I play this at practice and a few gigs in the cold and hot weather and the neck hasn’t moved once (roasted maple) it’s hotter than my deluxe but does the same sound of it with out tweaking. This has been making me think to sell off my pro 2 and get another mercalli as a back up. I’ve never been so upset with a company that charges almost 2 grand for problems. Granted people don’t have issues good for them. But for me this is the end of me using the pro 2 it’s A back up to the Reverend now it should be the other way around.

It may be something exclusive to GC or a special run they got their hands on.
I saw one at one of my local GC's along with the blue burst Player Jazz. I tried them both, but the action was sky high on both (I seriously considered asking for a slight discount on the Player, but expected them to rebuff).
