For me the interesting news on the P-bass is in the pickup redesign. Alnico V on the treble side, Alnico II on the bass side. Also neck shape and tall narrow frets. These are differences which affect sound and playability IMO.

Why not? They have pickups designed by the legendary Micheal Bump... who doesn't know him?So...are these just re-badged American standards??? They don't seem any different, other than colour options.
This may be a point although Fender should have explained which is the effect of this modification ....For me the interesting news on the P-bass is in the pickup redesign. Fender Electric Bass Guitars have always been perfectly balanced since 1951 and have never had any neck dive of any kind at any time.It seems that Fender addresses everything but the one feature that bugs me the most about their basses-terrible neck dive.
It's explained sufficiently enough in the video. This may be a point although Fender should have explained which is the effect of this modification ....
I know, right?!Neck dive? How are you shaped to get neck dive out of an American Standard?

I dig the Antique Olive finish, but I was really hoping for an Aztec or Shoreline Gold option.
Both colors are long overdue...
