Maybe they shouldn’t have fired those workers.
If you can’t get material you can’t just pay people to stand around. Which I believe is a probability.
We have so much work sold it’s insane.
Material is one to two years out.

Nah man, nothing unique. And while I'm not against buying used stuff - big fan most of the time. The idea for this bass is a bit of a splash out gift for myself - new to me and only me.
My issue is, mostly, that they haven't been able to keep to their word. I don't mind a little delayed gratification but I don't appreciated Fender edging me like this constantly. It's wildly unprofessional.
In my day to day life I experience a lot of supply chain issues as well and I'm no stranger to the turmoil of the last few years - but it doesn't excuse their poor behaviour in my mind. To be told, essentially, 'choose to believe us, or don't - we don't care ... and you'll get it when you get it' is crazy to me.
But again, I'm mostly just venting my frustration. It's not like I'm without a bass to play. It's just a pain in the ass.
where did you order from? I can see these in stock at a lot of different places. It says in stock on the Fender website.I ordered a Fender American Vintage II 1954 Precision on Oct 22, and it's still on backorder. I've been waiting for Fender to make an accurate reissue of this bass for years, so I'll wait.

I don't understand. What exactly and where did you order? I must be missing something because I see a lot of inventory online. Not so much a question, I just want to basically yell into the abyss.
Ordered an Ultra J in November '21 was told it'd arrive by June/July '22 ... Fender then said September...Then November... Then they told me January '23, now they're saying July '23... What the hell is going on at Fender? Last I heard after querying "If you keep moving the dates, why should I trust anything Fender says to me?" was "We understand if you'd like to cancel your order".
Talk about the Big F ...

Read the entire thread. Understand the thought behind wanting to get in before the price hike- IMO, that “hike” and the idea of preorders is a bait and switch. The EU has sued Fender for price fixing, the company fired the entire second shift last August, fired the CEO, and evidently have a huge amount of inventory just sitting around. This is the umteenth time Fender has completely missed the boat. It’s not a pretty picture.anyone actually read? answers as to "why" are above.
