As I say to my students, just because it is on the internet don't believe it is always true. Do your own research as well.
That said, everyone had the best intentions and forums are by nature discussion rooms where we feel comfortable sometimes speaking before thinking it all through. Who would have thought a year or so ago this thread would still be going?? Taking the 100T tonight to the gig instead of the SB300 - there is a great in house PA and sound engineer there and I want to hear that post power DI given a work out by a pro.

I replaced my power tubes. I had number 3s now I have number 7s. They're GTs but made in Russian Fed so probably rebranded Svetlanas?

Anyway I really like the sound. Much cleaner at high volumes but still distorts when I dig in.

Anybody that wants my 4 power tubes and 2 12AX7s, make me an offer by pm.

Fired it up at rehearsal tonight - 4 red LEDs in the auto-bias, but still functioning, albeit with masses of power tube distortion. Off to the shop tomorrow morning. Very happy I bought locally; if this had been a "grey import" I would be spewing right now! As it is, I have 5 years warranty on the amp and 90 days on the tubes, so I'm covered.

Just picked up a used Ibanez SR 1000 Prestige. Very nice bass and I love the way it plays and sounds but . . .

I'm getting a lot of unpleasant distortion on the high notes, especially on the G string. I dont know what strings are on there now but I think they are SS DRs (just a guess). Im going to change strings. Any other ideas?

And yes I am plugged into the padded input (#2). Lol
