2011 Precision Pro. It’s really amazing. Totally worth the wait. The “ bleached” 3TSB on these is the best sunburst I’ve seen.
I was thrilled they were able to accommodate my request for a jazz logo.
Well it happened again. Was in the process of buying a different used 2021 CS Jazz. I asked for a close inspection of the back of the neck and the seller sends me a pic of a small dent directly on the bottom of the neck where your thumb would travel around the 6th fret. He also claimed it was part of relic'ing. I did not complete the transaction and he later reached out to me saying he called Fender and they told him that while they used to never "relic" the neck with dents, they have started doing so, but keep them small. Personally, I would never want to buy an expensive CS bass with flaws I can feel while playing.
Still sounds like malarkey. If I were you, I would call Fender myself and get the truth.
I found a third CS Jazz - this one has no dents - from a TB member I have a good repeat trading history with. I did send Fender an on-line customer support question on the topic, but never got a reply.
I’ve never seen anything like dents on the back of a relic neck finish. They often do small dings around the headstock and on the body but they only sand the necks.
That’s pretty much how I’d spec mine out, I’ve always liked Carl radle/ Bobby Vega’s but this adds the J for flexibility. I’d love to have backups in different colors.
The specs were something the CS shop developed in 2011. Basically, 69 neck on a 60’s (alder) P body. 70’s jazz pickup and Badass bridge. Usually they come with a P logo. I’ve seen one other with the jazz logo. Actually, I think the 2022 CS precisions have a early 60’s jazz logo.
the bass is really wonderful. I’ve had two Fodera orders and a few other high end basses and the CS is on par.
it’s a really comfy, versified tool.
Couldn’t be more satisfied with the CS build.
Does anybody know what kind of round round string the CS mounts?

Mine came with these, but I don't think that they make 'em anymore. Now they're fit with 7250M Nickel-Plated. Mercifully, they don't have multi-color ball ends or silks.

When I was in high school in the late 60’s there was a black 58 Precision Bass bass with the Gold Anodized Pick guard for sale used. About four years later
I got my first real bass a 1966 Jazz with lollipop tuners. I’ll always remember salivating over that black precision and drawing sketch after sketch in my notebooks
rather than taking class notes. Yours reminds me of that bass.
Pair of my recent CS basses - Hurley P and Cunetto J. Both work really great... Cunetto is new to me, impressed by this bass. It has different relic approach, than current CS, but still very tasteful. Of course, bass is 25 years played, not easy to recognise, what is Vince's work and what is mojo..

Here's my Cunetto. I never gigged it, just studio stuff.
The relic work of Cunetto was fairly light and not far from the Journeyman Relic minus the crackle. Just a few dings and chips through the paint here and there.
