It's the shops ordering them; and that is the essence of Fender Custom Shop, why not order a more special one since there are so many available options?

I believe shops carrying them should be all over the vintage colors, at least.

Today was new-string/conditioning/cleaning-day.
I put on a set of Stadium Elite Player .045-.105 (curious to test them), conditioned the fretboard with Fret Doctor and cleaned the instrument with Gibson Luthier's Choice Hi Gloss Polish.

During the fretboard conditioning, I was hypnotized by the rosewood coming back to life; the color, the rich straight grain pattern, all was beautiful.
Some pics that I took; they are not depicting the true colors and depth of it, but you get the idea.

I just picked up the same CS jazz bass. I love the tone. I was always dissapointed with MIM and Squier jazz tones that I would try in the store but this CS is one of the best sounding basses I have ever heard.

Nah I get it...I just don't see many shops stateside that take more risks commissioning basses with more unique finishes...maybe the traditional look is what sells here..

I like this bass. Reminds me of the cow poke basses, but a unique look I don't have in my growing
Fender collection. May pick this one up.
