Fender Customshop??? Purple Sparkle!

FYI you come across rude as hell so I am shocked anyone has even bothered to help you.

Its not even a fender shaped headstock, who would reshape a Fender CS headstock? No one. Or have to shave down the G string tuner plate to fit them on the headstock. Let alone take out what would of been CTS pots and throw in some Chinese electronics, but they do match the rest of the bass which is likely a Chinese made $100 bass with some repaint, guard and schaller bridge. Worth $200 if that.
Hahaha, ok. But I think you're not right.

If you made sure truss rod works fine, there are no issues with the neck (twisting-warping), the electronics work fine, if it sounds and feels good to you, enjoy! :bassist:

But seriously, my Squier has better soldering than that. This is not only not CS quality, it is not even midrange quality. Looks like a cheap knock-off that has been upgraded with nice tuners and bridge. Have you checked the pickups? Maybe they are some cool pus in there. Pots and wiring look cheap, but it´s cheap to replace if you so desire.
$200-300 is what I would pay for it. Probably would get a used MIM Fender with that money though, but that's just me.

I am no Fender expert, in fact, everything I know about Fender (which is not 1% of what some people in this thread know) I learned here on Talkbass, by the very helpful (although sometimes sarcastic) people on this very forum.

I don't know if it is just my impression, but I get the feeling that some of the posts from the OP are quickly turning the helpful people into the sarcastic people.

Yeah dude, don't listen to the collective wisdom / consensus.
Enjoy your Funder CustomSlop.

Not saying it's the case here, but more often than not, I swear it's the fakers themselves posting their forgeries here FOR us to vet out wrong, so they can make better fakes. Stop doing it. You're exacerbating the problem. Just say "FAKE" and move on.

The neck is smaller than a standard fender jazz bass neck. I could be a reshaped without repaint. Thats possible.

If you have a headstock that is painted and then clearcoated, and you cut down the wood, the edge of the paint where it was cut would be at least scuffed, it wouldn't be as smooth as the uncut edges. Is that something you see?

I really don't think the neck was been defretted, it looks perfect. It is a very good neck.

In the photo you posted you can see where, under the closest fretline, the fret removal pulled out little bits of wood with it. It is obvious to anyone who has ever defretted a neck that that is what this is.

In Philadelphia it's worth 50 bucks.
Fifty bucks? No, no, no. This is a Fender Custom Shop. The thinnest, most water-resistant in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in California, and water resistant to three atmospheres. This is *the* sports bass of the '80s. Six thousand, nine hundred and fifty five dollars retail!
