Fender dark night precision with a tort pick guard!

I found a Fender Precision (American Pro II) that plays really well. I pulled the trigger and brought her home. It is everything I love about a precision bass.

I started wondering how a tort pick guard would appear in place of the black. I looked online and found nothing. Anyone have a photo of the new fender dark night with a tortoise shell pick guard?

No help here, sorry. The Dark Night is a great finish, though. I have a Jazz American Pro II in that finish. Love it.

Nice. I just love that finish. Even though we could go to the web and see pictures of the bass, we love to see pictures of the basses at home and at work in their new habitats.

I’ve been seeing these pop up at Guitar Center lately! Played their Jazz counterpart and I just love the color! Tort would do real fine but maybe a white pearloid would give it that WOW factor!

I can't imagine a scenario where a nice, dark brown tort pickguard wouldn't look great on that bass.

This is one time where Fender blew it.
The pickguard, like the Antigua pickguard, should match the bass.
Imagine it with a blue/black fade pickguard.

Should be the same pickguard as an American Standard etc. I just picked up the same model in Miami blue and swapped out the mint pickguard for black. I found the pickguard on Amazon genuine Fender part for $24.

That's a stunning looking bass, I think the tort would work, but i'd go for smokey mirror plate with that finish.

As the finish is dark knight it's crying our for a Batman plate!

Stick with the black, IMO.

Or go with something metallic. Mirrored if you're feeling showy.

Sorry I have a 5 string version of that bass and I cannot see a tort guard on it. But hey to each his own. If that makes you happy then go for it.

I think black is correct for this finish, IMHO.
