Fender deluxe PJ smokes MIA imo

Ross, I have a 50s lacquer PB, pretty much just like yours and what I want to ask is, did you have something of a rats nest under the hood?

I sure did. All I did was clean up my wiring by braiding the pickup leads a bit, and just a bit of tidying up and redoing some questionable soldering. Not adequate and yet very sloppy at the same time.

But, I am not complaining a bit. It was very minor to me, but just wondering.

I think I had almost a foot of excess wiring, LOL!

Yeah, mine was similar, but not quite as much wiring as yours....ha ha ha

Well, I've tried 25 to 30 basses since I bought mine...still nothing that sounds the same.
I have been thinking about swapping out the white pickguard for a black one and buying this strap.

Just picked up one of these seafoamers yesterday at GC in Orange, CA and it was on sale for $750. About $810 out the door after tax. Really enjoying it so far. Had a buddy fix the intonation tonight. Wow, this bass feels great. Quite the upgrade from my Sterling by Musicman Sub, although that was a pretty killer bass for how cheap it was ($300).

Just checked the GC website and the price is back up to $899. Still worth it, I think.
