Fender Fretless Precision Bass - Post yours

The voices are telling me to add a J pup and install a 3-way Tele-style switch. Make them stop...

Am I the only one who noticed the "ImPrecision Bass" on the headstock? I laughed :)

Began life as a fretted 73, as far as I can tell. Somebody rebuilt it into this sort of hot rod job, and I purchased it in this condition. Ebony board (done properly), neck slightly tapered to 1 9/16" (also well-done) and Alembic Activator pickups. I am rather certain the body and neck belong to each other, as they fit well, and the body has in it all the proper (filled) holes.
The pictured Badass II bridge was no good, so I replaced it with the same kind my Jaguar has on it, which I actually prefer. It also now has a new bone nut.

I do rather wish I knew where it came from. It's a very fun instrument to play.

I really wish Fender would re-release some of these. They do not offer a single fretless P bass. I would love an unlined one. I have considered putting a Mighty Mite neck on my MIA Fender, but would really like the trussrod nut to be in the heel since there is a cut-out in the body for it. Plus I would prefer it to have the graphite rods.

There's always Warmoth, or their various counterparts.

I have 2 fretless necks for sale in the classified adds right now. And they are Fenders. Why not spend your money on the real deal?
