Hi everyone. Fairly new bass player here but already bitten by the GAS bug and spend way too much time on here looking at classifieds and on reverb as well. Wondering if any of the Fullerton experts might have any thoughts regarding if this listing is a legit Fullerton reissue. Seems over priced to me... I'll let other smarter people speak too, but I have questions. I don't think it's original color. I don't believe they were doing these in red, much less red over 3tsb. So, possible refin. Also, a V00 would be likely '82, not '84. The bump is there, and it looks really cool, so if you love it go for it.

not sure i am any smarter, and i am certainly no expert, but i do recall solid color over sunburst as an option for these models. some other parts have been replaced, though...the d-tuner and strap buttons, for instance. curious that the pickups have different bobbins. couldn't make out the pot dates, and did not see a neck heel date. surprised to see that high an asking price as well...do these basses sell for anywhere near that price nowadays?

I paid in the low $3k for my '82 P Fullerton RI with an 00 neck plate serial, but mine is in near closet queen condition and with original case in same condition, so I figured it was worth it, plus for me it was the "must have it" factor so I was OK with perhaps overpaying. The red one above definitely has condition issues. I wouldn't pay that for one. See post 1398 in this thread for pics

Hi all! Just purchased my first Fullerton Reissue 62 P bass in original fiesta red. All appears original aside from the replacement guard. The original broken white guard is in the case. Looks like a sunburst finish under the fiesta. Is that legit? Meaning original from the factory? Also, did these come stock with white or tort guards? (I have a replacement pepperoni Fullerton guard to put on when I get the bass). Any info would be greatly appreciated. I’ll post some pics

Someone mentioned above that a solid over burst was an option but while there are legit factory examples of them doing that it was not an option you could request. Fiesta was a color offered on the Fullerton reissues and having it over sunburst is not common but not impossible either. Some photos of the body might help determine if it was done at the factory.

'84 Fullerton AVRI '62 Precision.
Still have refinished body w/original electronics.

I am not super knowledgable with what to look for to signify a refinish but it looks like an original fiesta red finish to me. What makes you say its over sunburst? The one ding I see has white underneath it.

Thanks for the reply Johnny. Yes, In a few of the pics there is black under the red. Also, that looks to be the original white guard in the case. I doubt this bass was Sunburst with a white guard from the factory. So, I agree this looks like the original finish to me also. If anyone else wants to give some input feel free. Thanks!

I didn’t actually take possession of this bass yet. It’s getting shipped to me today. It wasn’t cheap. I hope it plays well. The case, finish, and white guard all look original to me. I’ll post more pics when it arrives.
