Fender La Cabronita Precision Bass

That's pretty easy, just swap the himass bridge (too big) with a standard one and get those precision bridge + pu covers.
Done.

My thoughts exactly!! A standard Fender bridge or the Am Standard bridge would work nicely. That Badass styled bridge dosen't work for me on this bass anyway. Get the covers and control plate and there you go!! After seeing the photo shop pics, a new pg might not even be needed at all. Though you might have to dremel the pg a little for the pup cover and the control plate to fit properly. But that's not much really, then you would have a real nice, but slightly different version of a '51 Precision. Which is, (to me anyway), what this bass really is. I love simple retro styled instruments like this. The Shell Pink photo looks cool too, but I just don't know it I could see myself playing a bass in that color though...lol!

Come to think of it, besides the Shell Pink color, Sonic Blue and Surf Green would look real sweet on this bass too. Especially with the control plate and covers. Fender are you listening? :hyper:

I know. I've got waaay too much time on my hands....:D

Holy cow that is amazing looking! Just a total knockout!

Right now I'm working on putting a F-Tron into a yellowed vintage white Precision; will eventually have a custom Precision pick guard cut with the new pickup in the P sweet spot. I'm using a sweet playing E Series MIK Squier with a rosewood neck. Getting a black guard, but know I'll pine for tort, so I'll probably order both and switch off monthly.

I would move the F-Tron pup up toward the '51 position and replace the bridge with an Am Standard one and convert it to string thru so I could have the choice. But that would just be my preference, since I would use the '51 pup and bridge covers.

Is it possible to get a photoshop pic of the 2 color sunburst version with the '51 pup cover, bridge cover and control plate? I'm interested if it would look as nice as the CAR. Or maybe one in Surf Green or Sonic Blue for a cool 1950's look!

I had originally planned to swap in a TV Jones pickup, but after gigging with the stock Fidelitron I have been impressed enough to not feel the need. I've gotten too many compliments on the sound to tamper with it.

The TV Jones probably would sound great, of course.

After 13 pages of thread has no one done a side by side comparison of tv jones versus fender's version?

That is the main mod I want to do but can't decide btwn the blade and the tron. Would love some advice. And yes I realize that the Fender version sounds good but if you can go fully authentic, why wouldn't you?

You are the only one that even mentioned it. I am surprised no one has done it.
