The OP has said multiple times that he actually likes Fender and owns a bunch of their basses. Can we change the title of this thread to "I don't like Fender anyway but I'm glad they gave me something else to complain about"?
Yeah, I was gonna say this.
Which is too bad, I was hoping it would succeed and expand to include single-coil Ps myself. Oh well. As has been said, there are plenty of other options."Fender American Design Experience" sounds like an attraction at Disney World! Didn't someone from Disney recently take over as the head of FMIC? Coinsidence? I think not.
Sorry but the OP did not wanted an accordion, that is the equivalent to your example.
The quantity of "STRIKE"s, "!" and "WTH" in your post belie your claim, you come across as pretty darned pi$$ed about it, or at the very least, some set of emotions other than "calm and serene". If that was not your intent, you might want to reconsider your writing style.Bholder nowhere in my post did I say I'm angry, I'm not. If you are referring to my caps as being angry, no, shouting, maybe a little. Lol. As I said I am sad that they went to this much trouble for so little. As for building my own I have several. I mix and match Fender and Other Parts all the time. I have Bart's and a Fodera pre in my PLyte, I have a Blocks and bound Maple jazz neck RoadWorn P, I have a real 60s P body with a Jazz neck and Audere 4 band pre. I have a "59" AVRI Precision, I have a MIJ "Cowpoke PJ, etc. I'm really pretty well set. So this service is not something I even need as I am capable of creating my own vision of Fenders I want to play. Again no anger at all. I am serene and happy! I'm happy with the basses I have and really don't "need" anything else. There maybe a few basses I would like to own but need...no. Well maybe a nice 5 string fretless but that sure as heck won't be any kind of Fender clone. Have a great day. Kirk out. I

The "service" could be completely useless, I wouldn't know or care, you just seemed to be taking personal offense at it. It's just another marketing ploy, nothing to get excited about. I'm not terribly surprised that Fender would be hyping something this underwhelming...
The first one doesn't exist?whats the difference between a 700 dollar MIA fender bass and a 2k fender bass besides 1300 dollars?
I don't get it, you can get anything and everything you want at just as good quality from other vendors, so who cares? Go to Warmoth and get whatever you want.
I really don't get the anger at the manufacturer for not currently making exactly what you want. They don't exist to satisfy just you, you know.
