I am not a fan of the tort pg/white paint combo. So I ordered a mint pg for it aswell.

Good call on the pickguard. I can't believe how much better it looks with the mint.

I hope they release these with a maple neck some day. I don't need another bass, but I would need one of those.

They have a maple neck model at Sweetwater as we speak..

I'm thinking about replacing the tuning machines on my Squier.
which ones are you all preferring? There are 3 choices that I can see - Schaller lites, Gotoh res-o-lite, Hipshot Ultralights... I don't absolutely need the screw holes all to line up but I don't want to have to enlarge the holes for the actual tuner.
And how much weight do you actually save? That is the key for me. The stock tuners work OK so weight is really the issue. If I could remedy or significantly lessen the neck dive, I'd be thrilled.

70g ??? The 528s are 59g. What tuners weigh 129g each? The MIM standards are 82g. Total maybe?

Same here. When I bought my first version Mustang P/J in Oly White and mint guard I wanted to change the guard to brown tort but soon I found I like the mint so it stays.

I’ve got the LaBella Mustang flats that have been on and off the bass twice. They were gifted to me so I’ll do the same. The first person to respond that they want them, gets them. I’ll even pay shipping in the US as was done for me.

I have seen several people that have put JMJ necks on the Mexican P/J bodies as well as the Ventura necks on them also.

Has anyone tried to put an American Performers neck on one of these bodies.

Which set of Stringjoys? The medium scale. It works fine

The ones from G&L Tributes and Squiers weigh ~110g and the Gotoh GB640 or Schaller BM Light are <50grams. The Sandberg Lightweight tuners are 42grams.

Top picture is in support of light weight machines. Second picture is "agree to disagre".

All of that said, in the future, I would start with lightweights for any build, but probably not pull off a set of Americans or Hipshot HB7s for the weight difference on an existing bass. But, maybe.
